New day, new dilemma. So this is my current truck, owned 2 months...20170621_122956_zps15fyjixt_9db40c594a601e055e88b03ef72a01501d036591.jpg
2009 DCSB 104k pristine and everything in working condition.

Local Chevy dealer just took this as a trade in....20170630_081613_zpslj2wfyfj_96ed3bbb22cabcc992280773c0db39c11d902330.jpg

2015. 27k miles. Want 27.5k for it. I have about 6k equity in my truck as it sits, so probably around 23k or so out the door.

Wife says do it and my left side brain says the same. I looked for about 4 months before finding the 09 and then 2 months later this one shows up. Just my luck.

Opinions, good deal, keep 09, buy a Chevy or have a vasectomy at 48? Let's hear the thoughts so that I don't stress either decision all weekend.

Dont do it. You said your 09' runs perfectly, has low miles, and I wouldn't buy a truck that looked lifted as hell like that one does. Keep what you have, IMO, but it's your call obviously.

Not to mention you would be shelling out 23k. Not worth it IMO

I don't think you could go wrong either way in my opinion. With the newer truck you should have some warranty left if there are any issues with it at all. Plus, you know ... newer .. less miles. As for the lift, I would just make sure it's at least a name brand lift etc and not some dudes homebrew job. I doubt it is, but best to be sure. Of course with the older one, you have it now and know what it's already like. So, in the end, I'd go with whatever one you like best.

If your wife says "do it" then by all means. I had one helluva time getting my wife on board with me buying a new truck.

It's pissing rain here so i didn't get to look it over well. I am probably thinking just because its the same exact truck I searched so long for, year and everything. It's like the one that got away feeling that I am having.

I'd use that extra cash you would have spent (minus sale of the 09) and customize the ride I already have.

Get some pics of that lift when you can. Something doesn't look right

I prefer the front end on the 12-15 so I'm a little biased. I know where you're coming from. Maybe a test drive is in order. Then, if you like it more, problem solved. If you drive it and don't like it, samey same. Good luck.

Im thinking "follow your heart," but damn if that isn't a conundrum in itself.

I think it's parked on a slight hill, which makes it look a little funky. OP should be able to see in person if it's wonky or not.

I agree here too, I had no interest in a second gen until they got a face lift, but this is strictly subjective. I wish the pics at the top loaded so I could see what you are contemplating with.

OP, one of the pics finally loaded thanks to my works WEAK ass internet. Nothing looks special about that truck for a fair swap, or a 23k hit in your case. I can only imagine the possibilities with 23k to do with your truck vs getting that. I personally like your set up better and that bro lean on the front looks really odd unless they are cranked adjustable coils. I say HELL NO, but that's me man and I love the 12-15 look which you can always convert BTW.

Yup, I prefer the 12-15 front end as well but from a financial perspective this just doesn't make sense. At least to me. Swap the front end if you want, don't take on someone else's possible suspension headaches, and call it a day.

Couldn't of said it better, top of that why chance getting a lift that you might end up getting rid of? Unless the fresh black paint and basket is worth it that much, I cant believe they will only give you 6k? If you are serious about the deal, I would sell your ride locally and then get it.

No, they will give me 18k for mine, i owe 12k, so net 6k. I have to pass by there on my way home of it isn't raining then i will give it a thorough once over and report back. Btw, yes it is sitting on an incline but still pretty high in the front. I am thinking preload is cranked.
