I got a couple of chips before I put on my guards, steps, and weather tech bug guard. Very rarely get anything on there now - occasional bugs more than anything!

I have a '16 dclb sport in Gunmetal Metallic gray. I have mudflaps but no 3m bra or whatever the hell you call it. But even this winter having ice or snow slide down the hood left MASSIVE scratches down to the primer and I have about a half dozen nasty rock chips down the side of my truck just from passing vehicles not to mention after only having it a year (picked up may 20th 2016) the truck is RIDDLED with deep swirl marks just from blowing dust and snow.
It was given a "paint protection" gimmick plan when I first bought it, just a good coat of wax. I really regret not waiting another 3 months and ordering a '17 off road double cab in quicksand instead. But when I ordered this one last April I was assured several times by seperate dealers that Canada wasn't getting Quicksand tan in anything other than in the access cabs and we weren't getting the offroad in a double cab. Now if we can just get the DCLB OR in quicksand this side of the border, It'd be my dream come true.

The engineers and accountants figured out how to apply cheap paint down at the Tijuana Mexico factory razor thin and it won't blow off at highway speeds.

No rock chips yet, but I did lower my comprehensive deductible to $0 after reading about how easily windshields break and my commute to work is on the 50 year old not yet refurbished 5 freeway.

Too many to mention. OEM paint always sucks. I got my wife's car ceramic coated seems to be helping quite a bit. No rock chips or scratches yet going on 2 year of owning it. I can't justify the price of doing it to my truck though. Waste of money for what I use mine for.

I have a Barcelona red Metallic DCSB. It chips very easily. I have several on my hood, and even a few on my roof between my windshield and my sunroof. I do also have a few down the side of my truck as I do not have front mud flaps anymore.

Fender flares are peppered, hood skewp has some chips, couple on the a pillars/above windsheild. On my 3rd windsheild. Grille has a few nicks etc, its a truck i drive gravel roads etc and alot of highway. Also have mudflaps...
I have clearbra also and the rocks have eaten through it in the fender areas. (Covered under lifetime replacement from fading peeling etc?)
Some pinstripes from offroading also. I plan on linexing the whole truck in a couple years once its bad enough.

I got a company to clear bra the entire front bumper and grill. I had the factory hood, side mirrors, and front part of the fenders clear bra. Those are holding up great! No chips. However. Even with mud guards, I had a couple chips on the lower door. Fixed with Dr. Color chip and put the vinyl wrap on the lower half of the doors. Need sliders with plates!!

Honestly. Have you seen paint on dodge and other brands? I get a vehicle to use for work once a month from the Air Force, which is a dodge 2500. The trucks paint is paper thin. You can see where stuff has rubbed through clear and paint to the black primer which gave me depth to look at how thin the paint is.
