Anyone have an issue with the pad not coming on when the switch is engaged? I'm due for my first service shortly and will address it with the dealership, but just wondering if anyone has had any issue with it.

    Later.

My wife's phone is very fussy with placement on the pad. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah, sometimes depending on the size of the phone you have to move it around until you find the right spot for it to start charging.

there is a box outline on it, as long as it is close it will charge. gets heated up quickly, though.

Thanks...but shouldn't the pad come on even when the phone is not on it? The power light doesn't even come on some of the time.

Pads controlled by the button near the ignition, the phone has to be in the right spot, basically lined up with the charger underneath the rubber pad and most likely not have a case on your phone.

Don't think the Qi charge pad works with the iPhone correct?

The pad will not power up without the phone being in place. I would imagine this is a safety precaution in case it is left on by accident then you say, leave your wallet on it (thus frying your cards).

FYI, it also will turn off if you leave the seat. same goes for the heated seats...truck wont let you pre-heat the seats (say on a cold morning) without you in them

On occasion I do have to move my Galaxy S7 a little, also have a slim case but that has no impact.

FYI, how you position your phone on the QI charging pad is very important.

If it is misaligned, but indicates that it's charging, the charging will be very slow, and it will generate a tremendous amount of excess heat.

I have a Note 5 w/ case and it is very difficult find the right position on the qi pad. Honestly they should have moved the target qi charging hotspot back a little to accommodate large phones.

I guarantee it was designed around the Galaxy S phones - leaving us phablet owners out to dry. Bad move Toyota, considering the trend for mobile phones is for larger and larger devices.

Meh - all of this makes me use the Qi charger less - wish it was better implemented.
