So I'm considering adding a 3" Revtek body lift to my truck. I already have a 6" Procomp suspension lift. I've been reading up on it and basically wondering if its going to be as easy as just adding the body lift. I have a bull bar and I take it I will most likely have to get it moved right? Are there things such as control arms or other things that I'm going to have to change to get this to work?

Also are there any negatives to doing this such as parts breaking and stuff?

9" is a little extreme/not all that practical unless you're putting big rubber under there IMHO. WHo knows, you could prove me wrong. Good luck with you decision.
IIRC however, you will not need to do anything special. The lift is exactly that, you're simply putting the body on spacers on top of the frame

I think it will through off the geometry of the truck by a lot.... its a little overkill on a mid size truck... but what ever floats your boat boss... if u like it then do your thing then.... just word of advice it will be a terrible ride and DANGEROUS ride on the road... IMO... not to mention stacking lifts is bad idea.... each lift is designed to do a specific thing... I.E one is for a 3" lift and the other is for 6" lift...

Are you talking about a body lift, or adding a revtek spacer lift to your 6" procomp suspension.

okay yeah if its not going to be good to stack suspension then i probably wont do it. i just have seen some pretty bad ass tacomas with the 9 in lift.

sorry for the noob question but whats the difference between the body lift and the spacer lift? the one i was looking at from Revtek was the spacer lift

a BODY lift is just that, the frame and suspension stays put and you are putting spacers in between your frame and the cab and bed.

a suspension lift will give you more ground clearance moving the whole truck up, the frame and all.

you can do both but alot of people do not like body lifts bc they look like junk

Here are two trucks from trucktoyz install gallery, the first has 8" of lift and the second has 9" of lift. I think they look good, but thats me!! My f250 has 14" of lift.

those are all suspension. thats a 6'' drop down bracket and a set of coilovers.

I'm with the rest of the guys, body lifts make you look like a tool to anyone who knows anything about trucks and lifts.

I`m wasn`t saying the body lift is good at all , I was trying to show him that he could do 8"-9" without the using a body lift, I think the all suspension way would be the best way , if he really wanted to be at 8"-9" of total lift.
