See my build for some professional looking, chip foose level "damn is that factory?" fender trimming designs for 37s.

No but you are going to have to tub the shit out of your fender well. I did with mine and it still gets into a bit, with that rear mounted shackle yours will be worse.

I was surprised, passenger side clears, drivers barely catches the bottom of the cab. Can definitely tell I beat the passenger side more and can fit my hand between the cab tire at its tightest point.

Turned full lock? I thought the same until I flexed it out on a hill and it dug into the well hard. Also just cut it out, I tried to get away with sledge hammering it, and all it did was make it practically impossible to weld the new plate on.

Full lock to full lock. One side up, one side down and both up at full bump. I also pushed the axle as far foward as I could though.

Yeah I would go hit up a ramp or hill and flex it out.

A static test is nowhere near the same as dynamic (with springs). The only way you could cycle a static test truly is pulling the springs out of the equation

Just ignore those comments. It's the typical nonsense BS found in all wheeling and/or car forums. Everybody likes to brag about how fast and cheap they built something themselves.

Reality is, many people almost never tell the full truth about how much a project really cost them in time, money, aggravation and unforeseen costs. Pride gets in the way. Have you checked the sticky on the SAS folder about how much people actually spent on their SAS projects?

Yes, there are guys that can do a link SAS in their garage in a month and with all the bling for a total of $1000 and a case of beer...but I don't think that's the norm.

Bet you will never give AP another dollar as a customer LOL

I knew there was another reason why you mentioned going back to leafs on your next build :D

Not sure I follow? I know the springs will move back some under pressure cause of axle wrap and that's just how springs are. But disassembling a leaf pack down to the main leaf, adding a block to equal the height of springs assembled and cycling the suspension is about as close as you can get. Things will move under stress but that's the only real way to cycle the suspension. Would be the same as pulling the coils out of coilover and removing the nitrogen.

What do you mean? I do not think you even need to add coils to the mix when you are cycling the suspension with links.

One of the advantages of links, I think, is that things will not move differently under stress once they are dialed in.

I am all confused now lol

Truck looks great with 37"s BTW:thumbsup:

Right you would have to take the coils off the coilover to cycle the suspension with links or else you would end up lifting the car instead of the just the suspension. Same idea as taking a leaf spring pack apart to the main leaf and putting it back together with a spacer and u bolts to be able to move the suspension up and down.

I agree the benefits of links are they won't move foward or back under stress but you have to keep that on mind when you get in a bind that there's nothing to give besides metal tearing and parts breaking.

Short version of all that. I'm just cycling my suspension like everyone else lol. Same way I built it and same way everyone else builds a leaf sprung vehicle lol.

It's crazy how much more things move around when it's out in the "real world". I had a ratchet straps in a tangled mess of death try to get my suspension to Max out in the garage pre rolling it out, thought I maxed it out... Then I flexed it on a hill and had to hack stuff away, then took it wheeling and found it rubbed places I never even thought (the battery tray for example).

I'm mad I had to cut my fender flares off, I like the stock trd ones.

I kinda lost access to the shop I was using, so I threw Basketcase together and got it outta there. It's pretty much a truck again but has a LOOOOONG ways to go before it's right. Work is on hold until I can buy a house and build a shop. Until then it will sit and I'll focus on my other Tacoma for a while. It's been neglected and needs some love.

No exhaust and almost outta gas in this video
