Never seen a Savage so I couldn't tell you that, but here it is next to my wraith. It is quite large.

Just bought one to play with my kids with today. I got them a pair of ECX Amp MT and they've abused them to no end. At my LHS he had an ECX Boost marked down to $100 so it came home with me. I've got a sack of RPM parts already waiting for the Amps to break but they haven't yet. This Boost is the same chassis so they'll fit mine now. Now I do t have to bash on my SC10.

Yesterday I swapped some wheels/tires around on my Wraiths and peeled the vinyl off my Bomber's hood and sprayed it with white Plastidip to see how it holds up.

I was doubting its capabilities at first being it was so damned big. But it looks like it handled that rock pile very easily. Good job making it work. Have you considered some extremely low kV outrunner motors? They'll run cooler and may give so better low end power.

I was also impressed at how it just kinda drove over stuff. Really shocked me. I expected to get stuck a lot, but it just kept going. Now that I have locked the servo saver it should do even better as i will have more control as to which way the truck goes. I probably wont go brushless with this one. The DeWalt motor has plenty of power for my needs and prefer brushed motors for the kind of stuff I do.

I had a pair of 45t motors in the kid's Amp MTs. They've finally convinced me to put the stock 20t motors back in and they killed the 2in1 Rx/ESCs in 1.5 battery pack. And these were NiMh 1800mAh packs, too. Looks like they'll be getting some 'upgrades' in the mail soon. My Boost was slowing down, too. So I think it was nearing the overheat protection and it'll be getting the same ESC. I'm looking at the HobbyWing 1060 for all of these. No need for a drag brake but I think it'd help with things getting ran over when the kids get into panic mode.

For S&G I put a spare Traxxas XL-5 ESC in mine and it rips on 2s. The HW 1060 is 3s capable so it should prove even funner. While I was at it I put the RPM bellcrank/servo saver delete on mine and added 1.5oz of stick on wheel weights in the nose.

I put some Amp MT tires on it, too. I didn't like the little knobbies in the rear and skinny sand tires in the front. Staying wingless for now, too.

Finished up a used twin hammer I picked up cheap..built it so a buddy of mine whose wife won't let him buy one, can have some fun with his kid. Can you guess what school he roots for?

Those Ripsaws look good on there. I may need to scour the classifieds some more.

Finished up the body and decals. Sprayed the body white and applied all of the stickers (a ton of them!). Tinted the windows with 20%. Turned out nice. This was a budget build where I was not looking to do anything like this. Caught a deal on an m.rage basher (AWD on road racer) for $40 some time ago, and was not happy with the Suzuki Swift body that came with it. Being old school, this was an old favorite of mine and could not pass it up when I seen they had a body of the Lancia Stratos rally car out there... image.jpg

I pulled out my box of Savage X parts yesterday and went through everything, this project got shelfed a few years ago because I was having trouble getting the pin holes enlarged on the FLM hardened cups. Picked up a $15 carbide jobbers bit from McMaster Carr, made up a little wooden jig and finally got the holes drilled out. Put the Kershaw designs direct drive tranny together as well and started figuring up gear ratios etc so I can figure out my 1:1 roll out as well.

I have a lot of parts still to order but once I am done this should be a pretty badass extended/Low TVP brushless converted Savage X. I have a Viper VTX8 and VF8.21 reserved for the powerplant.
