    Hello All...

Anyone else want to talk about their 2017 Tacoma TDR Pro? I got mine the day it arrived in San Jose. I live in California's Sierra Nevada foothills and now at almost 10,000 miles average 20+ mpg with my daily driving as a real estate person.

On weekend treks or challenging work-related driving, this vehicle torques effortlessly up steep off-road inclines and has unworrisome flexibilty through deep ruts and ditches. It's among the best off-road vehicles of anyone I know and people living in this rough country have some amazing trucks. This truck is a winner. Every day someone says, "Nice truck!"

Mine is Barcelona red. I have yet to see another one on the road here in northern California.

It is not perfect. It's not a sports car, it rides like a truck, but of dozens already it's one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Get one if you can.

    ;-)

Good ole tricky Ricky trying to pull a fast one on us... everyone knows the turd gen sux!

Just kidding! Congrats on the truck! I'm nothing but impressed with my 17 off road. Sure it has a couple minor issues but so does every vehicle. I wish i could have afforded the pro at the time but it just wasn't going to happen! Post some pics :worthless:

Yes, 20 mpg. It will be 20+ again when I drive down the hill to the office in the morning. Once one gets used to not kicking the accelerator, it's a breeze. -rick

I always get that perplex look on my face like someone just said something extremely far fetched when I hear "best vehicle ever" and they have less than 100k miles or "I get compliments daily" when they drive a normal everyday vehicle. The last one makes me wonder what kind of crap town they live in to get daily compliments on a run of the mill vehicle. How can a vehicle be deemed "best" after such a short time, especially one that has as many notorious problems as this? Just chalk it up to the new buyer being overly excited.

Well, Tyler, you don't get to decide what vehicle I deem as the best or worst I've ever owned. Nor to you get to characterize anything other than your own experiences as "far fetched," nor do you get to label my community as a crap town. Nor do you get to define what level of problems anyone has other than with you own vehicle. Your post is blustery, unfounded, unsubstantiated opinion. Have a nice day. -rick

Ch78: at about 9,500 miles mine started to get 20 with daily on-road driving. Off road, sure, it's less, but even at 15 mpg, that's 300 miles of off-road traveling. This is a great truck. -rick

A friend of mine once borrowed a $35,000 car I had spent about $30,000 modifying and some tire biter and her friend slept with him for driving it.

He swore it was the best car ever and even paid to have my rear seat carpet steam cleaned from his nasty random 3 way action.

And he only drove it one night.

Nice pro, OP! Looks great! I saw a Barcelona red taco pro a few days ago on the road, it looked really good. That is a great color for a taco pro.

Ch78: I look forward to getting BF Goodrich All Terrain T/As once this first set wears out. These tires slip a bit. The dealer said the first set is always the best, so I will run them out. -rick

THATCH11B: I got the call that a TRD Pro was available. I wanted cement, but it was red. Red was a spiritual sign of sorts, so I payed the deposit. The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro is going to wind up as being one of those tremendously classic Toyotas. Limited numbers. Same with the FJ Cruiser.

Nice truck. I have a cement pro and also just rolled over 10K miles. Man I must beat on my truck because I just can't seem to get over 16-17 mpg consistently. I do drive probably 75% city streets, maybe that's the problem.
