Cheap isn't always the best route.....those would end up costing you more in wheel spacers...etc. just get some steelies in a 16x8 with the proper BS and you will be good to go.

Oh I'm not gonna buy some wheels and put spacers on them. I'm in no hurry. Just gonna wait for the right wheels, hopefully just some stock tundra wheels, and pick them up.

Nothing wrong with stock wheels, but you will end up with a 7" wide wheel which ideally you will want an 8" for most tire sizes you are going to want to run....but that's just my opinion. It always seems expensive to buy a set of wheels....since you are in no "hurry" then my advice, find a wheel you really"like/want" and purchase 1 a month or whenever you can afford it will take the overwhelming one time financial sting out of it.....after all Rome wasn't built in a day. Just an older guy giving ya a bit of financial advice :D

Those are what I'm running. They definitely need spacers. I have Spidertrax 1.25" and 255/85 ST Maxx. They hit the frame hard at first. I plan on doing t5he tundra upgrade at some point but can't say for sure if it will work. I'm hoping so though :fingerscrossed:

    Specs though:

    Size 16" x 7"
    Diameter 16"
    Width 7"
    Lugs 6
    Bolt Pattern 139.7mm
    Offset 30mm

Replaced front diff oil seals. They both somehow started leaking after I installed a diff drop but it's all fixed now.

Never heard that before. Pretty sure they are all the same. I have fj trail teams with no spacers. My buddy have 2nd gen off roads on his first gen without spacers...

Sounds like he has small tires then.

2nd gen wheels are almost a full inch more inboard then 1st gen wheels.

I believe they are either 265/70 or 75. But my point being the wheels fit. Sounds to me like y'all are saying the wheels don't fit because the bigger tires dont fit. But i never saw the guy in the post mention a specific tire size, just tundra brakes.

Not sure what the original problem is. But doesn't change the fact the wheels sit more inboard. And yes, anything over that size and you're doomed to rub somewhere without spacers.

He was asking if those wheels would fit a first gen Tacoma with tundra brakes.

Well, yes and no. Should clear the calipers fine. But will need spacers for anything over a 265 tire.

might as well be. Asking if it fits a 1st gen. Id assume you'd want tires on your truck...

Put the specs for ya up in my post. I want to say I found on another forum that they did in fact clear the tundra brakes as I was looking for the answer too... but don't quote me. :D

Sometimes I worry about the attention spans of people today. You mention wheels and bigger brakes and they assume you want bigger tires lol

Lots of us are happy with 265/75s lol

So of it weren't a first gen you wouldn't assume we want tires?
