BINGO! Just out of curiosity, is the truck sitting at a tow company racking up storage? Did USAA put you in a rental vehicle? I sincerely hope the answer to both is yes.

Yes it is racking up storage, and no they didn't put me in a rental. I am fortunate enough to have a couple other vehicles I have access to drive.

Sometimes you can get a payout on a portion of what the rental would have cost by using your own vehicle. It ends up being a win-win as the insurance company does not have to foot the bill for the entire rental that you are due and you receive some money for using your own vehicle instead of a rental.

Damn that sucks. When my truck got hit I had insurance come out 2 days later. Rental the same day. And a payout and everything wrapped up in 2 weeks topps. I kept my truck and fixed it though. Rebuilt title but it saved me 17K on the loan outright so whatever. Damage wasnt that bad.

    Update 6/30:
Finally received my money for my truck, a month and a half after my accident. This past month has been extremely stressful and aggravating. The other drivers insurance paid for the truck(I had it switched). It was unbelievable how long it took to get a hold of anyone on a daily basis. I would receive an email and I would reply in a matter of seconds but I wouldn't get another response for 3-5 days. Super frustrating, but I got a decent price for my truck including paying for my recent suspension, tires and wheels.

I have been looking for a new truck since the day after my accident but have had no luck finding what I want. Of course now that I want to upgrade a few years I can't find any newer 6speeds around!

Just want to say thanks to all you guys for the kind words and for helping me out with the insurance stuff!

Just curious, how much did they end up paying out? With the value of the truck vs. the accessories and personal items.

It was about a $1400 difference between the first and second offer. Obviously doesn't cover it all but it's more than I expected and is the most I will get.

did you have to submit anything to progressive for all of your add ons? I have progressive, and have alot of stuff on my truck.

OP, I feel like we were just talking about stuff a few months ago, and then this happens??

Long story short, it isn't progressive it is USAA paying.

What I learned from this is Liberty Mutual, my insurance company, would not pay for anything extra because I didn't call them to have it covered. See, if LM paid, they go off of my policy so whatever I signed up for and any add on I called about, they would pay according to our contract.

USAA on the other hand, I obviously don't have a contract with them but their driver is responsible for everything.

In short, if you have add ons call your insurance company so your big ticket items are covered if you get in an accident and either the other driver doesn't have insurance or it is your fault.

Oh and we might have been talking about something but I forget! You are the ultimate Craigslist finder though, I know that! Find me a truck yet? :)

You should delete the last part. It will help the prosecution get the premeditated part across. Hope your wife gets her chance.
