Quickfist snowboard mounts?

I've searched and have not found a solution.. as popular as quickfist is for mounting quick access tools such as a shovel and axe to the bed of your truck (I still need to get some) has anyone tried using one of quickfists other mounts for a snowboard?

I've got a rooftop tent with a full-size rack I made and would like to use quickfists as a solution to mount up to 5 snowboards on the rack without using any space in the bed of the truck so everyones gear can still go in there.

As far as I can tell, quickfist makes a mount that might work (aside from their ratcheting mount which I would rather stay away from)

Never thought of that. I honestly got nervous when I first started using quickfists, but they are solid!

 

Do you know if you can lock those? That was my thinking about a solution for my boards, I want them secure.

I held onto my old Yakima snowboard rack, found some longer bolts and washers and mounted it to the crossbars. It's nice having bed space, but being able to lock them was key. That being said, someone can sit there and unbolt everything, but that's beside the point.

 

At 150lbs holding strength, they should do fine two clamps per snowboard. Pricey, but I'll be charging extra for gas

150lbs per clamp, 300lbs breaking strength
Double that and it will take 600lbs of force to rip a snowboard off the truck. Decal facing out, curved board ends facing into the box, they shouldn't Catch any wind

 

That's another thought I had too, but to buy Yakima or other brand racks costs way more and when I go boarding I leave someone in the truck with the boards if we get groceries and then the boards get locked into our garage where we stay after we arrive.

As for actually being able to lock them... I haven't heard anything positive on that front... Would be nice if quickfist made all their mounts compatible with a small padlock.

 

I had the mount from my old car so luckily, $10 in hardware was all I needed. Bought the KB Voodoo bars too, but I figured those are multi use.

The extra precautions are the KB voodoo bolts are 11mm haha

 

I'd be a little concerned with the edges of the board cutting through the rubber of the quickfists.

since you made your rack, figure out a way to fab a mount to attach thule or yakima clamps onto one side. sure wind noise and fuel efficiency will take a hit but its all about smiles per gallon, or liter in your case.

Good point, didn't think of that. Unless I grab ¼" thick rubber sheet from work and use as an inlay to protect the clamps...

 

This was the option I was chasing for a while but the Thule/Yakima mounts are expensive as balls :/
