I am going to be picking up my first Tacoma here in a few weeks. I have started talking to local dealers and negotiating. So far this is the best quote I have received. TRD DCSBOR super white, premium/tow packages for $34,816. This is my first time negotiating and I have been lurking on the forum reading tips, regardless anything you have helps.

If you get 10% off MSRP then you are doing pretty good. If you get more than that you are doing really really good.

Make sure it has everything you want. There's only 29 variations and permutations of these things and it's enough to make one's head spin thinking about all the options, etc...

Total out the door comes to $37,017. MSRP is $37,443... my offer of $34,816 and 10% is more like $33,698. Looks like I have about a grand to argue over. Should I tell them after we agree on a price that I quailify for the $1000 military rebate?

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to work your best deal first and then pull out the discount that you qualify for. Play it like you would if you had a trade in. With a trade in you always mention that after the bottom line deal is made.

BTW thank you for your service OP:thumbsup:

The best deal I could get in Southern California was $2,800 off of the Windows sticker price. Mine Is pretty much loaded with some extra stuff dealer added like exhaust tip, TRD air filter. Sticker was $41,000 and change I Pd $38,000 and change, Hope that helps give you an idea. Here in So Cal the Tacomas don't sit more than a few days on the lot. I had to walk out twice to get this price and as long as I'm happy with it, that's all that matters to me. The always say you can find a better deal, depends on how long you want to spend looking for it.

So today the dealer called me and said Toyota has a 4th of July rebate of $1,000. That makes the truck $33,816, and 32,816 with the additional military rebate!! I hope my mustang sells before the 5th so I can go pick up my truck!

I have the same truck as you, same thing in regards to stupid market, but in AZ. After back in forth I got my JBL/Tech/Premium with tonneau, tow, stupid exhaust tip for $37000, sticker was $41 and change which is a steal for this area and for Tacoma's in general, end of month, slow car market. They did have a pro with $3k mark up on the showroom floor...lol. Good luck OP.

Congrats! I too just bought one two days ago. First tacoma, I love it. Got my DCSB OR 4x4 with premium(JBL)/tow package and a bunch of other stuff (sticker was $41600) I got it for $35,300. These things are awesome, now I'm just on the forums looking to see what mods to do.

That's a ridiculous price way below invoice. How'd you pull that off?!

Over the years I had a Ford pickup, a BMW, a Harley, a Honda all with the basic shade of MGM. It's either that or white. Not really into blue or red vehicles and definetly no green or yellow. Black is beautiful but just too hard to keep looking good.

And again, you got a great deal. I started my "deal" online with $1,000 off. Dealer is 2 miles from home so I drove over AFTER they quoted me $36,000 which close t $5,000 off. Of course when I arrive, they point out that the quote was a different VIN that we were dealing on, just for comparison. Yeah right. Anyway $38,000 was the best I could get after 2 hours and walking out twice. But I'm happy with and that's what matters. I hope you enjoy your truck as much as I have.

Dude, thats a good deal for where your at and even on the NE coast. When I bought my 16 I only was able to get $2k off and the Tech/JBL Off roads you couldn't even negotiate on. Congrats. Now that guy above me that posted, his deal makes me feel like sh*t lol.

I've had black, white, red and silver tacoma's this is the first MGM, love it. Agree black was a nightmare, everyday a new scratch, dirty 2 hours after washing it. Lol.

It wasn't easy but I got it done lol! I went and told them that I had also made an appointment with another dealer so if they could not do what I wanted to please let me know because I wanted to get there before they closed. The manager did not agree to my price, said that that's what trucks were going without everything that was added to this one. I told him that's fine I guarantee you that I can and I will find a dealer that will accept my offer. Salesman comes back, I tell him that the manager said no so I was going to leave, they said work with me can you do $39k - $38k, I said no I already told you my offer and I'll stick to that. He went to a higher boss and they said no as well so he wished me good luck and said that he could help me get into a truck with less options, I said no thanks. I left, 2 mins later I get a call that they were going to accept my offer, I quickly turn back and bam I got it. I was only there for around 30 mins or so, went in ready with my own financing as well.

You just have to stick to a number, and always be ready to walk out.
