I get the sense that most if not all of the vendors around this forum make their sliders by hand rather than some automated system, and most have seemed willing to work with customers. I've got a set of sliders on order with Demello currently and they were very accomodating when I wanted a matte finish rather than their standard powdercoat. With the way the rails are fabricated, they should be able to be flexible on length if needed for weld-ons.

One thing to look into is whether the wheelbase on the 2nd gen regular cab is actually different from the access cab. I remember on the 1st gens the standard cab had an 8 ft bed and the AC had a 6.5ft bed with both trucks having the same wheelbase length; since this makes the trucks easier and cheaper for Toyota to make since the frame rails can be common to both models. If the wheelbase and frame rails are common then both trucks should use the same sliders anyway. Not sure if the same is applicable to nerf bars or tube steps though since those generally attach to the body rather than the frame (although they also tend to be cheaper if you're mainly interested in the look or getting shorter people into the cab rather than being able to bounce off trees and rocks)

You'd need to talk to a vendor about that. Looking at Toyota's website, it looks like the wheelbase on the reg cab is 18 in shorter than the access/double cabs.

If you're having something fabricated (like sliders), then the finish options would pretty much be limited by your willingness to spend $$$, although I wouldn't reccomend getting weld-on sliders chromed unless you're building a show truck or enjoy a rusted frame. Paint/powdercoat color options should be just about anything you can imagine but that'll depend on who your fabricator does business with.

You can check ebay if you're looking for something more decorative (steps or nerf bars), although those will likely have more limitations for color/finish and won't be much use as trail armor.

I've personally got the TRD off-road package, and went with a matte black finish on my sliders (hopefully I'll be getting them installed next week) which I think will work well with the grey paint, but won't know for sure how it'll look 'till they go on. Whether or not that'd match up with your tastes is for you to answer, since if our personal preferrences were 100% in agreement you'd have the access cab anyway (the green was my first choice for color, but I don't consider the grey as "settling" for me as it was a very close 2nd).

Anything more than that, you'll probably have to answer for yourself or talk to a vendor, which I haven't got enough personal experience to reccomend one over the other as far as comparison. I chose Demello in part because they're relatively local and I can drive to their shop for a weld-on install without dealing with shipping, but they've been great on service so far and their stuff sure looks solid on their site; no idea where you're at or if that's an issue that'd factor into your decision so I'm not going to imply that you can't get a good product or service from someone else if you go a different way.
