1bad2k: I drive 90% mountain highways and paved county roads for business, which usually means driving down river canyons and up the other side to get from point A to point B or up to higher elevations and back down again. I have always been used to normal higher RPM acceleration going up out of the canyons or going to higher elevations. At first I thought the engine was a dud because it seems to want to stay at lower RPMs. I stopped fighting it and just let it do what it wants to do and am now used to going up hill at lower RPM, which explains my 20 MPG. If I want to hit the ECT button or punch the accelerator, that is always an option.

Hello all! First post... looking to get my hands on a cement PRO real soon. Reading all the threads I'm getting mixed reviews on this truck. IMO it's a beautiful rig out the showroom but I have a couple of questions...
    - Why is the PRO not available with a sunroof?
    - I would eventually like to put a SC on it, will we see one in the near future? (rumor is Magnuson is trying to develop one)
    - TRD stopped production on their SC so will/ Magnuson SC void warranty?
    - How is the factory installed sound system? It's the "top of the line TRD" so why is the JBL not available? I mean with the price tag, IMO all the options should be available to the PRO

    Thanks!

My guess is they felt serious off roaders would have a roof rack with a tent or other stuff loaded up.

No, sunroof available. It's just one of those things. You might be able to order one if you order the truck from the factory. The dealer asked if I wanted to add a sunroof and I declined. I don't know about the SC. I would rate the factory-installed sound system as a 4 out of 5. My previous Toyota had a JBL system and it kicked butt. I was very disappointed to learn that the JBL system is not offered on the 2017 TRD Pro. So I was left with the choice of buying a TRD Off Road with JBL, or a TRD Pro without the JBL. I chose the TRD Pro thinking I could add it later. I have gotten used to the sound system now, so it's not even a priority anymore. It is adequate, but again one might be able to order this upgrade.

I did not give a hoot about the Entune system when I bought the truck, but now I really like it and am glad to have it. Texts come in over the system and can be read via the audio system. Some of my friends purposely send me text with lots of swear words because they know I will chuckle when I hear the truck saying them. The Entune system allows you to choose restaurants by category and distance in real time wherever you are and the GPS system works really well.

When I found out the one that was available was red, I said to myself, "I don't want a red truck." Then seconds later I realized I have been driving a red F-150 (my dump-run, dirty work truck) for 20 years. The Barcelona is not an obnoxious red and it looks different in various lighting conditions...sun, shade, cloudy/rainy, etc. I have grown to like it.

Had s 2017 Limited that I took in for 10000 mile service. Before they were drone was driving this off the lot and love it. Did I pay too much? Yeah. Did I lose all the equity in had built up on my Avalanche when I traded in for the Limited? Yeah. But I love the Pro and I'll be driving it for 15 years God willing. It was worth the extra loot.

I had a Limited with JBL and now a Pro. Can't really tell a big difference. The JBL is clearer thanks to the amp but otherwise not that noticeable. This coming from someone who replaces stereo and speakers first thing in my pre Tacoma owned vehicles.

Glad you are pumped about your new truck. Many of us are too with whatever trim and options we chose. I love my off road. Great truck. I have only ONE complaint and it's cruise control not shifting back up sometimes due to wind or other loads. Makes me laugh because others spent their money on Shift Sense Pro so it will not shift into 6th until well in excess of legal hwy speeds. So how do you complain about something that others are TRYING to achieve and they are complaining about what you want the truck to do.

Enjoy the truck. Ignore the negativity. Grin from ear to ear every time you climb in.
