Check the movement of the e-brake cable. Specifically under the truck where it's sheathed. It may need lubricated to free it up. If it sticks it will cause dragging and over tightening.

I boxed my rear bumper to add more support of my tire carrier. Then I added a Hi-Lift mount for my jack.

Then I added a locking push-pin with lanyard to lock my latch.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds

I had that issue when I did my brakes, used duralast shoes, replaced them with Toyota shoes and the problem went away.. don't know why though

Changed out the fuel filter today. Many thanks to @License2Ill for the use of his flare wrench to get it done, made the job easy. Had to retorque the front fitting after the first test drive, had a bit of a weep, but after that it was fine.

I found a post on another Toyota site where someone else had aftermarket shoes that did the same thing, replace with OEM Toyota and fixed. I went ahead and ordered the parts. It hurts, but I needed to order a new center support bearing anyways

OE bushings are pressed into the leafs, no? So if I already had aftermarket shackles (daystar) those bushings should go into the Dakars no problem right? Also wish I knew this sale was coming lol

On the advice of a grizzled and seasoned automotive vet, @Star-Lord , I ran a bead of silicone to fill in the gap between the cheap/poor moulding on my topper.

Ever since day one this thing has leaked water in the same exact spots on either side of the topper. Old Brett figured out that water was running down the side of his topper and in between the shell and the moulding. Then the water would leak in underneath the bottom edge of the topper.

If this fixes my issue, first round is on me. If it doesn't, my scathing sarcastic wit will take its toll.

So today I was driving up to Powder Mountain to go for a bike ride.... The road is pretty steep, and I drive it all winter with no issues. About half way up truck seems to be struggling under the load, and the next thing I know my a/t temp comes on argh WTF :frusty:. About a minute later my water temp gauge spikes, and it is about to hit the red :crapstorm:.

So I find a good pull off the road, crack open the hood and I've got coolant noticeably spraying out of the hood gap :poking:. There is a 2" crack in the top of my radiator, front side right in that plastic piece:tumbleweed:.

So I limp it home after I had to stop and refill it once, and the crack is now 2 inches longer. I figure I better get to pulling radiator out, an hour later and I'm looking at camelback and rock auto. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Camelback OE Radiator for $201.00 and the Rockauto Denzo OE Radiator for $82.00.

Is there anything else I should look for before I put it all back together?
    • I will throw in a new radiator cap and thermostat when I replace the radiator.
    • Super Long Life Toyota Anti-Freeze ok, or do I just run the Long Life?
    • The Transmission Cools through the radiator correct? Since I likely baked it should I get the Transmission flushed?
    • I Just changed my Oil yesterday, thoughts on the need to change it again?

Till then I'm driving my ladies 2nd gen...

Price is the main difference. Denso is what I just replaced mine with. In my opinion the radiator is not a truck part where the more expensive toyota version makes a difference.

Only difference is the Toyota one is a Harrison and the denso is a denso... both are equal in quality id say
