I hope they just have to torque yours, mine was drained, opened, and inspected. My entire underside of my truck is splashed with diff oil, from the rear axle to the entire wheel wells.

That's what they are going to try and pull on me next week, re-torque because my diff is dry! Fk that, I want new gasket, bolts, inspection the whole nine yards so I don't have to worry about it and ck for seepage every week.

You going to Mapunapuna? If you do let me know how it goes, I'm curious to see if they return yours with a mess.

I'm not gonna lie, they had my truck for a while, I got impatience. I literally called everyday, I stirred up so much shit with Corporate, with Pacific Toyota (Hawaii's Toyota Distributor) and even with the sales department. I forced them to give me a brand new 2017 Tacoma with paper plates as a loaner. So I'm not surprised they rushed my truck along, but I'd rather have it back with me all dirty, than wait around with my thumb in my ass.

The next time you go in for service they will probably impound the truck again because of the leak they found and not realize they fixed it the last time. Based on the competence level we have seen from dealers

Lucky (although dealers should accommodate for situations like this) and don't get ahead of yourself ... you may indeed want to upgrade after getting the Sr5 back. :)

Between the rear differential problems and the transmission fiasco it boggles the mind.

If it concerns you that much grab some old oil and spread it around your rear diff before taking it in to the dealer.

    Lol !
Nice idea but I said that because I think it's the gasket as much as the torque or both.
My SA already mentioned today that they would pull my diff and inspect it , change gasket , install new bolts and fluid.

    We'll see next Wednesday

Coming up towards 2 months without my truck. Whatever. When they call and say my truck is ready I'm taking my sweet time. I'll get it when it's convenient for me. I don't mind milking the miles on the loaner. Screw 'em.

4th of july will be 2 months since i left my truck. I'm surprised how patient i've been to this day. But i'm getting impatient seeing that some owners have their truck back and mine isn't ready.

I assume Toyota is sending diff parts to bigger Dealers based on backlog? If this is true, the Dealer in my town isn't very big. It could be a very long time before we see a fix in these here parts...

Are Tacomas in the recall manufactured in both Texas and Baja California, Mexico?

Does Toyota manufacture the affected differential or an independent supplier?

If the date range ends in March 2017 what changed in the build process and are parts for current owners being delayed as Toyota continues to build new Tacomas?

My Toyota dealer has had my truck for 61 days now. They claim to be waiting on parts for my truck but have started repairing other trucks. 2800 miles on their loaner with the maintenance light about to come on for 5000k maintenance.
