Before purchasing any harness, I would check for +ve voltage and ground, two of each, at S22 connector.

:anonymous::facepalm:Wow total brain fart by me. I have no excuse for doing that wrong, just didn't set the dial correct. I just Re-tested and got similar results but showed a little bit of voltage on the driver's side. Well below 7.5V.

    Driver's side:
    IMG_0533.jpg

    Passenger side:
    IMG_0530.jpg

Can you help me understand this better? I crawled up to the S22 connector which is above the rear diff (right?). I unplugged it and attempted to measure voltage from the connection side (not from the harness just to be clear). I could only get .8 when I grounded the multimeter to the frame.

I really appreciate all the help. Believe me I'm learning along the way and of course from any mistakes I make so by all means teach me where I'm going wrong.

He's saying check, on the side of the harness towards the front of the truck, pin 2 (RL) to frame and then pin 4 (RR) to frame. This will eliminate the rest of the harness forward to the ECU as a problem if you have between 7.5-12v on both of those pins.

Ok got it. I wasn't getting a good connection I believe tonight when I tried this so I'll try again tomorrow morning. S22 is the connector that the rear wheel speed harness plugs into correct?

Correct. You are testing the vehical harness to make sure there is voltage getting to the plug.

Looks like voltage is getting to the plug. I tested both pins and got the same voltage. At this stage is it safe to assume the RL part of the harness is the culprit? I scanned the truck again after hooking the plug back into the rest of the harness that leads to the front of the truck and and cleared the RR wheel speed sensor fault. As expected the RL code did not clear.

Part is on its way. Ended up getting it from ToyotaPartsDeal.com for $93.66 shipped. Everybody locally wanted over $130 which is not that much of a difference but at this point I can wait a few more days. Excited to finally have this issue resolved once and for all. I'll also cut open the old harness once I have the codes cleared and determine where the wires are damaged.

Thank you again TW for all your help.

Same stuff happened with mine, I think I hit it coming out of a rut. Same lights came on I bought a $15 wheel sensor off Amazon and it fixed it, it's been about 7 months with no issues

This was the first step I took by simply replacing the wheel speed sensor but I could not get the fault code to clear via Tech Stream. So further diagnosis indicated that I am not getting enough voltage to the sensor itself so the problem lies in the harness. Before ordering a new harness I made sure (thanks to help from members here) that my issue wasn't in the wiring from the ECU at the front of the truck. After verify voltage is getting to the harness plug I determined the skid wire control harness needs to be replaced.

I don't expect you to read through the whole thread but I've documented my diagnosis up to this point which helped me order the correct part(s) instead of just throwing money and parts are it.

    SUCCESS!!

As suspected, the problem was indeed the harness. Upon removal of the entire old harness and inspection of it, I found both wires on the RL at the connector to the wheel speed sensor had a ton of play in them. After shinning an LED flashlight into the connector you could see exposed copper so from what I gather something got snagged right before the connector enough to break the connection inside. I don't know how it didn't break the original wheel speed sensor itself being that it is plastic but none the less, that was the problem.

It was a great feeling finding that so I quickly installed the new harness, connected everything back up, scanned with tech stream and cleared all the codes. All the lights on the dash previously discussed in Post #1 are now off and truck is back to normal.

A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU :cheers::thumbsup:to @Sandman614 , @10MGM, @Bebop and the rest of you for contributing to this thread. For future readers I will update my original post with troubleshooting steps and the final solution including part numbers.

I had these two lights on my 2015 TRD OR last Friday when I started my drive home from VT with camper in tow. I stopped for gas in NH halfway home and the were out when I started it up again.

Guess I'll keep my eyes on it...

Was it both the "Brake!" and "ABS" lights that came on? If you have access to a scanner that can read the ABS module, that will be the best way to determine what fault code was logged when the lights came on.

Keep in mind I had 3 lights with my issue.
