    The plan:
    1. cut off frame posts and weld end cap on

    2. Weld plating on bumper mount for the flush look.

I've looked at the bolt locations of the bumper mounting plate (trail gear)and see this partial frame removal as non issue.

Just wanted others input, before I do this

    Other info

Truck is a 2000, so I've already had to cut the cross member where the skid mounts.

Rust is not an issue so no need to worry.

    Thanks!

I think you'd be fine to do that :notsure: But then again I have nothing scientific to base that on. The part sticking out is obviously not contributing to the structurality of the truck as a whole, because nothing is tied into/connected to the end.

Yes exactly, just seeing if anyone else has gone this route. I've already cut the cross member for the skid plate mount so I guess there's no going back now...

    Been there done that !!

Cut the frame horns off welded in new pieces with weld nuts welded in

I just made a piece that bolted between the frame rails where the hooks had mounted when it was born!!

Then bolted it fast allowing another two places to attach more bumper bolts

Then my bumper sits more forward then what yours will
