Going to be removing the bed from my double cab to apply some rust treatment to the frame today. Any tips. I got the 6 bolts loose but unsure if there is an easy way to undo the electrical wires for the tail lights. Any tips here or for the process will be appreciated Ill be checking back here all day.

wear gloves too the sharp metal edges can cut your hands, with a Double cab 2 fairly strong guys can easily lift it off, just make sure the wires to the lights/license plate lights are disconnected. pretty straight forward, also make sure you clear the gas filler hole when lifting it.

Try to soak them with wd40 or PB blaster for 24-48 hours before grinding or torching. With the impact gun, go in both directions spinning the bolt back and forth and it will come out. When reinstalling use ANTI-SEIZE on all threads and bolts.

Drape some towels over the front of the bed because it will contact the back of the cab when you lift it off

PS, unscrew the taillights from the bed and the wiring harness is easy to unplug.
