Why? Just to spend money or is your CB really fried? I've tuned mine along time ago and it was kinda high but never had a problem with it! Did you replace it just bc it didn't fall into the tuning "standards" as the instructions said? Kinda curious to the reason is all.

I replaced it because my swr is at a decent level now and I am wired straight to the battery and I still am getting feedback and the sound is incredibly annoying to listen to. I was transmitting with a swr of 3.9 : 4 for a month with it and the problem was progressively getting worse. Now that I'm grounded on my antenna with a 1.8 : 2 swr the new cb coming in shouldn't fry. Sound can't be electrical feedback either because I'm run straight to the battery. The cb is only like 30 bucks anyways. It is a constant sound and adjusting my squelch or volume doesn't affect it

 

Also, you have a connection on your paint to help your grounding. Keep in mind I am on a bedrail in a plastic bed. You're mounted on a whole lot more metal than me

 

Hey Chris, I have a tacoma 03 and I want put a turbo on it, I lived like 45 minutes from Birmingham u can recommend me some shop they can put one in my truck, thanks for your response.

Please get a good swr meter. Those for 15 bucks off Amazon work but arent the best. Get a good tunable antenna firestick decent but spend most on coax antenna. Tuning an antenna is easy get your old tested. Dodge City exit 299 Dodge City great place.

The only thing I can think of at this point would be dirty power from stacking connections. Is it the only thing connected to the battery post?

Your firestick is a cheap antenna though is what I am saying. It is not matched for your radio.

I know how to tune an antenna. I've have had a linear on all of my radios back to 2001. Good luck with your venture..

The only thing I could suggest is swapping the radio to another truck and see if it follows the radio.

 

Wilson or k40. Or last option go whip which sucks.

There are better options. These are middle of the road which worked great for me. On 4 watts they will be more than ok.

 

You look at the cx racing kit. Is this the 3.4 i assume?

 

See the only reason I don't think it is swr at this point is because no matter if the radio is at minimum volume or maximum volume the sound is the same volume
