Deckplate mod done wrong?

Put a 4" deck plate into the Tacoma today, and when I started the truck up the 'Check Engine' light was on. Overall, the process took 2 days (long story), but I was safe and put a plastic bag over the intake, and I took whatever sensor that's in the intake out. I put a little silicone and paint around the deckplate, but I waited for it to dry for at least 6-7 hours. Any ideas on what it could be? Do I need to reset the computer since the sensor was moved, and if so how?

I have the stock K&N air filter replacement, but I don't see how that can affect anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

 

have the code checked, it could just be a coincidence that now you have a different problem

 

I used bathroom silicone... Should I remove the silicone I used ASAP and put sensor safe?

Is there anyway that I could have damaged the sensor?

And I'll let it sit for the night and give it a try mid day with the supposed 'warmer' weather.

 

That's funny. Just remove your EFI fuse for about 1 min.to reset the CEL. If that doesn't work then try changing the silicone. I think I bought my sensor safe silicone at Walmart. If not, it was at Auto Zone.

 

Yes, your truck will start sneezing and post nasal drip will occur causing the radiator to leak.

you used paint on the intake?

yah, those are hard fumes to lose....

 

i'd say you damaged your sensor. ...not likely to be fumes if you let it dry for 7 hours.
