    Morning everyone

    Currently at 0823hrs its 78 degrees , clear skies , winds SSE 10mph gusting to 35mph and high temp expected to reach 97 degrees today

    We've got warmer weather by Thursday with another excessive heat watch with temps nearing 105 degrees

    It's so quiet here this morning I can just here the BNSF NB and SB trains as they're headed or leaving the Barstow yard

    Not much going on today , might just hang out inside and watch TV .Woke up this morning and can barely put any weight on my R/knee without being in a lot of pain

    Seems like I wasn't the only one, the Saturday stand by guy missed the call also. Mgr is pissed. As I understand the law, uncontrolled standby means there is no restrictions on my day...except sobriety, that's why we don't get paid. The company has a contract to support the customer 24/7 but won't pay us for standby...so I can't take my manager seriously when he says I dropped the ball. I should have looked at the schedule closer, so it was my fault, but again no pay, no care.

    Plan on going in winter, the week after Thanksgiving is empty and easy to get a room at the lodge, usually dry and cold you get great views. During summer there is a looooong line to get in the park
