Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
That's why I said, If. Obviously Toyota is in no rush to fix some issues...

Besides maybe some new colors and safety sense which will mean price increase, unless you care about those, it makes no sense waiting. Deals are being made with a slow car market and moving towards end of year.

Pricely, price went up when they added power slider for 17, I expect another slight bump for the those added features, though I think they are gonna be part of the premium and tech package.

New delivery '17s are great trucks. Mine has zero issues, much better gas mileage than my Gen2, transmission is fine if you know how to use ECT and S mode for steep & twisties. Even with stock OR tires it wins the traction equation better than any stock vehicle available. If you need a new truck, why wait?

People saying to hold out for an '18 to get the safety sense must have never driven a vehicle with it. My wife has a RAV that has it and its not that great. The adaptive cruise was what I was excited about and its terrible. It is way to cautious and wants to leave too much space between vehicles even on its lowest setting. The distance seem to vary depending on what's infront of you, i.e., semi's set it off way early and the vehicle will start braking too early to maintain distance.

If you like the truck, go buy one now. If you want the truck to beep at you when you cross a line and try to steer you back into your lane, like say exiting the freeway, buy an '18.

I would not like that stuff, wonder if Manual Trans Models will get stuck with that stuff too.

Also, if you drive where its dusty, or snows a lot, be prepared for the dash to light up like a christmas tree and beep at you telling you the systems are not working. The sensor gets obscured and then the system goes offline. You can turn the system off, but then what's the point of buying a vehicle equipped with such stuff in the first place?

Same here dude...I traded my 06 sport with 243,000 miles for my 17 TRD OR. I am sure I could have made it to 300,000 and maybe even 400,000 with a little work put into it. I sort of miss the old girl but I do love my 17 OR.

At this point if I were in the market I'd wait. Might as well get that extra "year newer" for free. Their won't be any difference as far as the "bugs" you speak of. It'll be the same truck but perhaps with some of the safety sense features that Toyota offers on other vehicles. I'm not sure if that rumor has been confirmed or denied at this point.

    Working on it.
It did not impact my decision at the time as it was not a current concern but I would prefer to not have all the extra safety sense nannies impeding my driving.

I have adaptive cruise control in a car I own, and really like that feature a lot. I don't know whether Toyota plans to introduce it in the Tacoma in '18 or whenever. It wasn't a big factor in my thinking and I guess cars, trucks, computers, smart-phones, all technological stuff, keeps getting improved upon and debatably better over time. Few of us would like a 1990 Toyota pickup as a daily driver nowadays, too bare-bones. I remember back then a CD player was a $700-1000 option. But no matter when you jump in, within a year there are going to be "improvements", generally higher prices too. I guess I'd say get it now if you need it now, wait a few months if you don't.

Buy now. All years have issues. It's inevitable.

You have 2 options. Try to find a 17 you like and maybe get a good price or wait a few months and order what you want. As for me I'm considering ordering one this winter and let them get production going good. Hope they fix all the problems but I would not hold my breath. This very important GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT NO COMPROMIZE then you will be happy !!!!!!! I have a 17 TRD SPORT with a/t that I may sell. But I wanted a manual but I got as close as I could at the time because I did not have a ride. Thats how I know the hard way is to get exactly what you want !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I drove my wife's new civic with the adaptive cruise control this past winter. Slush covered the sensor and cruise stopped working completely. (Still have no idea how to turn off the adaptive part and still retain basic cruise). Pulled off the hwy and hit the car wash. Great it's working again! Well that lasted a couple of km. Conditions were excellent except for the spray re-freezing on the front cowl.

Now the lane departure assist....... We live along the lake and often take tar and chip back roads home. Due to the high center camber the thing tries to shake the wheel informing you that you are exiting your lane the whole way along one road in particular. My wife leaves it off now because it is useless unless on the hwy.

All of these features are great for those who don't put driving as priority one when driving. But for those of us who take driving seriously and focus on the road and not our phones they are unnessecary. ABS was the last safety advance that really had value. All the others can be done just as well by a rested, attentive and skilled driver.

I don't think waiting will get you anything more than a newer model truck.
