Boss man is throwing a party at his ranch today, free day off if you attend. Was hoping to have the CB dialed in before I left, but alas it wasn't meant to be. I have the SWR meter in the truck, so maybe I'll sneak off on a drive around the ranch somewhere and use the wide open space to do the calibration.

Also, my bedside decals arrived. Guess I have another project to do now.

Larger white compass is going in the back glass, the smaller I think will probably end up on the tripod.

I bet those will look great. I always think about removing the stock ones and replacing with some custom like that, but never get around to it (had the truck for 8yrs, so at this point probs not gonna happen)

Does anyone know what the part is that would need to be replaced if I destroyed the trailer wiring plug?

Wanting to get it fixed and working and mount it somewhere else so it doesn't get destroyed again.

One of my coworkers bought one for an f150 we had on the shelf and mounted it in the bumper instead of under it. Looks pretty clean.

Yea, I am just not sure if there is a certain one I need to buy to replace mine with or what, but going to mount it in the bumper...

Has been broken since Jamboree 2016... but want to get it fixed as I will need to use a trailer here in a month or so and want to be legal.

I went the cheap route and wired up an aftermarket one... part couldn't have cost more than 30 bucks. Just took some time to seal everything up. That was several years ago. no problems to date.

Edit: I spent some time searching for one that would fit in the License plate lamp hole on my stock bumper... I just put in a brighter bulb on the remaining LP lamp.

Was going to go the route that Crom did and drill another hole in the bumper so that both lights are retained. Pretty clean install honestly.

Yeah, I considered just making a complete new hole for it, but using the existing was easier for me. I just had to drill 1 extra hole for the mounting screws if I remember right.

I need to replace the screws as they are rusting (shop that painted my bumper used different screws than what I had initially used when I did this. but they charged me so little to paint it I just left them)
