I want to upgrade my 2017 4x4 TRD SPORT to custom wheels and go from the stock 265/65/17 to 17" wheels with 265/70/17 tires
Rub anywhere ? Trying not to do a lift yet to see if the 1/2" tire size bump will effect towing power

    Thanks,
    Don

You don't have a Pro if it came with those size tires on them, as you are already lifted as well if you had a Pro

For 95% of tires no. There have been some reports of rubbing on some tires. Suggest you look in "Wheels and Tires" forum for the specific tire you are considering.

    Depends.

Tires of the same size can differ in actual dimension.

Too much protrusion can get you into the plastic and/or the cab mount.
17"x9" -12 ET, probably. Adds approx. 1.75" to the outside.
    17"x8" 0 ET, maybe. Adds approx. 1.25".
17"x7.5" +6 ET, probably not. Adds approx 1".

    Caster can affect clearance...

    How you use the truck...

    Local tire place says 265/75/17

I use it to go out 4 wheel dr road to get to rock climbing area, road trips and to pull a Ski Nautique boat

265/75/17 is a rare if not non-existent size.

    265/70/17
    265/75/16

Those are the two common sizes. 265/70/17 will work just fine and you will not rub. It is a very popular size around here.

    @Doggman sorry 275/65/17

I am getting the wheels 1st and they could even try one on to see right? I would rather go wider fatter than tall and narrow which is what the 265/70 is right?

Ah I see. You are right 275 will be wider. It should fit but it may rub in extreme cases. What wheels are you getting? If they have excessive offset/backspacing they will rub more.
