When I lived in Santa Barbara this shop had an 08 crf250r, and for a decent price at that. Missed it, and then later found out CA plates just showed up for it. By some miracle the bike got plated and the dealer didn't even know.
But other than a miracle it's damn tough in CA

Yea there are mirocal bikes out there. But one day you may try to renew your registration and someone catches it then bam... plates gone.

Sometimes it slips through the dmv cracks if you transfer a plated bike in from another state that's not allowed to be plated in CA. There's a cool 2stroke plated now on cl that's not supposed to be plated here, haha.

Stop crushing my dreams Mike!!!! My dads been wanting to do it for years and I think he mentioned registering in AZ. So we'll see what happens. I'll bring it up to him, he wants to convert his too.
Damn. All of you crushing my dreams. I've got a crf250f so I at least have a headlight/brake light. I already knew I'd need the mirrors, signals, horn (which I don't understand why, I don't think I have ever heard a motorcycle use their horn), and the DOT tires. And of course plates. I just want a bike. I've had my motorcycle license for I think 8 years now with no bike haha.

Just do a SD plate. Those are the least painful. Getting the CA is where it is near impossible. Unless you have an orange bike. Those come with pretty CA plates.

You can register it in SD without actually going to SD? That's interesting.... We'll see. I have a lot of research to do on it still

It's all over the supermoto forums. You send your title to them and you get a SD title and plate to your home address. Never need to leave your house. On your insurance you still use your home address.

Nah for insurance you just say where you keep the bike at. Probably your home address.

It'll be maybe 400-600 less than the rear. I need to stop at a 4 wheel parts and see what they can do for me shipping wise since they're an All Pro dealer.

I think the All Pro I want is like 1049 pre tax/shipping. The Pelfrey HC rear without swingout is 1025, add the swingout it'll probably be about 1700. The 2nd gen HC rear swingout with the options I'd want is 1774. So almost double, just under. But I want the rear bad.
