Won't lie I completely forgot to do this last night so thanks for holding me accountable. Excuse the day time shot, went out and took these right now but you can see the DRL on, led bars on and additional amber light in the top corner on.

So, in DRL mode, the parking lights are on too? Have you looked at the wiring on these lights? I am wondering if there is an easy way to install a switch to activate/deactivate the LED strips.

Have not once looked into the wiring as I didn't do the install, just let the boys at USR do the install. They did mention about modifying it in the future to make certain features remain always on and tie others to mode set switching.

Well they came in and work fine. Can't tell really the brightness difference until night. I may swap one old one back in and then do a comparison.

Didn't get a chance to swap an old one out due to the storm we were having, but I did grab a couple shots this morning before work.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Did anyone end up buying these? They're literally just Spyder headlights.

Yes we did. And yes, we know. As a group buy, we got a discount on them which made them cheaper.

    A lot of stuff.

Having purchased these lights and returning them, the biggest turn off was the LOSS of your DRL mode on the switch. I was hoping the white strips would be lit in the DRL mode, however all Spyder lights work the same (told to me by their support staff), the white strips only work int the Parking Mode..

Did you in stall the lights and test? I would like to see pics of the lights in each mode... the pic above was in DRL mode and the strips were lit and the parking lights were on. I'm confused...

Yes, I installed and tested. I even called Spyder while I was trying to figure out why the switch is doing nothing. So, you have to skip over DRL mode to Parking Lights mode to get the "White Strip" to eliminate..
I also purchased the matching tail lights, which I kept on the truck.. these work normally. At first I thought there was some wiring conflict going on to why I was loosing the DRL mode on the switch.. but nope.. it's how they are designed to work... Hope this helps...

No, if you look closely at the picture, you will notice the outside lights are on.. this is Parking Lights...

I can see that they're on, that's what I said. So the pic provided is in fact NOT in DRL mode? And from the sounds of it, while in DRL mode no lights are on?

So I'm not confusing you, the DRL lights in these headlights work the same.. only the DRL
Correct, when you and I think of DRL mode, currently our Tacoma only lights up the "Amber" inside light.. that it! ... In these Spyder lights, this mode is eliminated, gone.. nada on the switch.. To illuminate those really cool looking white strips, you must move the switch up to the Parking Lights, which also illuminate the all the parking lights, including the lights in the brake lights... this is what I didn't like..

I don't want to discourage anyone from purchasing these lights.. I really like this Blacked out look, and the White Strips.. If you could figure out how to re-wire them so they work like traditional lights.. that would be awesome..
I currently use the Switch Back dual LED lights for my DRL mode.. very bright white LED's .. very nice and different.. they turn to Amber when turn signals are used.. this is a nice addition to anyone's truck and would recommend them.

Not liking it either. Was going to pull the trigger on these and the taillights today... maybe just the taillights.

I purchased everything from CarId.. it was such a hassle going back and forth... they sent me a $30 gift cert .. If you PM me me your email I can send that to you for the tail lights.. it may work, it may not...

Just bought these on ebay for $255.05 shipped, which was cheaper for me than this group deal plus shipping. That will depend on where you live, but it sounds like everyone is paying pretty steep shipping here. The seller on ebay is OEMassive, the listing is a make-an-offer. You can only offer 5% off their listed price (they have it set up to auto-accept/deny offers), so an offer of $265.05 will be automatically approved. I used an ebay discount code for another $10 off to get down to $255. I should be able to rewire these to work properly in DRL mode.

Thanks to Jack for getting this initial deal set up. I would have bought them on this deal if I didn't stumble upon this better deal while looking for other headlight versions. I'll keep everyone posted on how to rewire these lights to get your DRL working again.

Thanks for passing along the info. Interested to see how the rewiring goes. I don't imagine it will be difficult, all the terminals and wires seem to be easily accessible.

On a side note, does anybody have the ability to meet up with a friend and compare these to someone's retrofits? Curious on the quality of the projector assy
