So i went to the stealer ship today to try my luck with the leaf spring tsb. i told the service idiot that the truck sags and bottoms out with 500 pounds in it. He says there is no tsb for 08 prerunner and they will make an appointment to have it looked at. He kept saying its not a recall so there is not much we can do unless there is a legit reason.
    what do you guys think?

Check the part numbers on your springs.. if they end in -G then you don't need the TSB.

Some 08s still have the -F revision so I guess there would be a legit complaint there... I loaded about 700lbs in my bed and my friend and I were jumping up and down in it as hard as we could and it wouldn't hit the bump stops... I have an 08 with the -G revision rear springs

i told the service guy this. i told him the part #s are the same as the 05-07 with the f on the end. He said well there is no tsb in the system for the 08 so all we can do is look at it

Tell him there are a bunch of us and we are gonna sue Toyota. If anyone decides to class action them let me know. I'm not overly happy with them.

Tell them if they won't do the TSB, You'll find another dealer that will and you will take your business there instead.

I am a rookie tacoma owner (48 hours) and am SOO pumped about my new ride but can someone explain exactly what is a TSB? I assume it's a manufacturers recall or repair free of charge - is that it....? Thanks.

I haven't tried to look, but where would the part number be located on the spring?

put 500lbs of sand in the back. Show them that it bottoms out. You will have no problem getting the work done if you can display it to them.

The TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin- It's a resolution for a hard to diagnose or identify problem. In this case it relates to a harsh ride (bottoming out) with a light load in the bed. If your truck qualifies by either a) being on the TSB and/or b) demonstrating the problem to a service center it should be done fre of charge (if you are within warrantee)

You are in the right- If your springs are the old parts....The service center won't want to give up the labor time to a warrantee job- so they might not make it easy.
As soon as you make the call to Customer Experience- You should get worked out...

Honestly, this is the first I've heard of this problem on an '08 access cab. The only ones I've heard having this problem on 2008's are the DC longbed. Toyota supposedly fixed this problem.

Just buy sand bags from homedepot. Then show the service manager that it's bottoming out. Then go return the sandbags back to home depot.

You can argue all you want with the corporate guys and the service manager, bottom line is...they aint gonna do shit until you can display to them the problem.

^^^^^^^^^^^Yours should be covered by the TSB though? You may still have to display a problem to the jerkoffs.
