Smart move. All of my extra money goes into my house now. It's bittersweet.

Maybe one day the house will be "done" and I can do something else

I miss that truck. Now I have a full size truck, I can tow my next Toyota pre-runner to the desert.

That's funny man I remember envying your rides back in the TTORA days. Did you just get a raptor? I'm heavily considering getting one down the road but would not use it as a daily.

I did get a Raptor. I love it but still plan to buy/build a 1st Gen Toyota prerunner in a few years once I leave Los Angeles and have a real garage to work in again.

That's cool man how do you like the raptor after having a built up tacoma? I know for my full size needs I would consider getting a raptor. How is the mileage in it?

I am in love with the power, easy steering, and ground clearance w/35"s. I'm averaging 13-14 mpg which is the same as my 5th Gen 4-Runner on 285s. The Raptor mileage really improved with the CAI and the 5 Star Tunes.

I miss the fit/finish of my 4-Runner compared to the Raptor but that's about it. The Raptor runs circles in the desert around all of my built up 2nd Gens and 5th Gen 4-Runner.

However, its huge and won't really fit on some of the tight technical trails that a 2nd Gen Tacoma or 5th Gen 4-Runner would easily walk up. I can't really do trails with this truck which is probably my biggest gripe.

Thanks for the info I thought it didn't get that great of mileage but cool to hear it gets that much with 35s. Have you done any suspension upgrades to it and is it the newest year?

The mileage pre CAI and tuning was only 11 mpg.

I haven't done any suspension work and after one quick test session, I'm going to leave it alone. Mid travel is around $5-6k and for a few thousand more, I can buy a 1st Gen Tacoma to play with. These Raptors are big $$ to build and I would rather put that $$ in a real prerunner with a cage.

    I have a 1st Gen Raptor (2014). The 2017+ Raptors are considered Gen 2.

With it being bolt on, does it attach at all to the bed frame? I would of thought that there would need to be some connection to the bed frame atleast, but don't know crap about reinforcing for a bed cage.

Yes it bolts to the frame, the same place where your bed liner is bolted to the frame.
