I spent yesterday evening at the in-law's place in Duxbury. Someone had a bonfire go up faster than I've ever seen anything go up. They had to have soaked it in gasoline or something similar. I guess from what I heard passer-bys say was that they fired a bottle rocket into it to get it to go off. I honestly thought it was a boat exploding it went up so fast / loud.

I wish I didn't let the inspection lapse in the Vette, today was perfect. I'm not looking forward to fixing the headlight motor since I know the body doesn't line up right and I don't want to tear into it too much.

Plus my vacation is over as of tonight. I has a sad.

Went to the Rhode Island spot last minute today... Picked the wrong line and decided to take on a downed tree - needless to say the paint on my passengerside didn't like it. Battle scars for days - totally worth it though.

Same here. I took my girlfriend up to the prison camp in Rutland and did a little bit of trail riding. Good times but nothing remotely challenging.

Morning all! Happy 2nd Monday of the week... :pccoffee:

Hopefully everybody survived Independence Day with all 10 fingers intact. Old Thirsty and I went up to my hometown for the Parade yesterday (pic above) and then bombed home and I spent the afternoon on the water with the boat. I installed a 15P propeller on it on Monday because the 11P that it had on it gave a great hole shot but topped out at 18MPH with just me on it and it dropped to around 15-16 with the GF and the dog, which isn't really fast enough to properly stay on plane even at max revs. With the 15P she takes a few seconds longer to get on plane, but once she's there she'll do 25mph with two people and el doggo, and 28 with just me.
I noticed yesterday on our run from one end of the lake to the other and back that it not only went faster, but it used a lot less fuel doing it.

I don't know why I came in today, I'm back off the next 2 days, so this is my Monday and Friday all in one! But do not know why I didn't just take this day as well.. I'm a dummy.

I replaced most of my basement lights yesterday. Need to do the rest today once I pick up more wire. They had a ton of florescent fixtures down there, so I bought simple porcelain sockets and LED bulbs. I went from about 900 watts of lighting to 85 watts.

Now I have to figure out how I'm going to get rid of ~20 4 ft tubes.

If I had a crew like that in the boat I'd get up on plane and find some choppy water.

Had to get rid of some too. Just for reference, Covanta takes 4 per day, per resident - for free. After the 4th bulb, they charge a fee.

I saw that. Closing on that house is Friday so I could get rid of some that way this week. Any idea what the fee is? Even if it's a dollar per bulb, that's fine if I can get rid of them.

I eliminated one accidentally. It fell onto the concrete and exploded. Wasn't fun to clean the glass that went everywhere.

Pretty sure Home Depot and Lowes still take them, for free. Or at least they did when I went through and redid the cellar lighting with LED's a couple of years ago. Give them a call and ask for the service desk; they should be able to tell you.

Not sure what the fee is. I had three to get rid of so I didn't have to pay.

We don't have a Lowes, just a Home Depot. I was told they only take CFLs now, but I'll call and double check.

    Ah, okay.

I'm going to check with work, too. If they don't pay per bulb and just have a batch picked up occasionally by Republic or whoever does it they might not care if I add to it.

Good idea. They are probably getting rid of those things all the time.
