Spent an hour or so pulling my steering wheel column to tack weld the slip joint, eliminating the slop in it. Best use of my time ever on this truck. Highly recommend. Here is a link with good pictures, but be sure to go to post 42, , as this whole process only requires removing the plastic clam shell behind the steering wheel, removing the springs for the tilt column, pulling two allen bolts, and one bolt at the floorboard, plus disconnecting the various wiring components at the wheel. You do need some needle nose vise grips to pull the tilt springs (hardest part of the whole process)! A couple of tack welds on the slider, and put her all back together again.

Thanks man - the question was supposed to be a little more detailed, but since no one replied I had moved on to an odyssey of research last night and wound up here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lower-ball-joints.476593/page-3#post-14473244

The reason I was asking is because someone offered a pretty good deal on an lbj with a skirt and I was trying to find more info on the skirt and hardware issue since I guess they use different hardware. I never updated my question thinking it got left behind so thanks for not letting a question get left behind  :oldglory:Happy Fourth of July :oldglory:

I have em on my 03 dc with an ask. They do the job and didn't break the bank. I'm a prerunner so I don't off road much but when I do it's usually pretty light

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
Took her for a drive and something feels lose up front. Not sure what yet, didn't have time to really diag. Felt like side to side play moslty at slow speed (nearly stopped) specifically if the truck rocked side to side a little bit. Maybe its nothing but I'll look into it tomorrow... All the LBJ fail stories make me hyper sensitive.

Mounted my shovel today. Used a cable lock to secure it for now. Anyone know of other ideas for locking gear besides this setup? Enjoy some poser shots while you're at it too! ;)
