You gotta admit, rolling down your windshield on a hot day would make for one hell of a refreshing breeze. Also gives you a reasonable excuse for wearing a balaclava while driving.

Stop/Start is gay as shit. Rented a Ford fusion with Stop/Start and the AC cuts out. Real shitty in Florida. What was fun about that vehicle was going 10-15mph and hitting the electronic E-Brake.. Really should figure out a way to hurt myself with that and sue Ford..

Apparently You haven't heard of the New 8-speed and the issues it has with the Torque Converter. Guess the lockup is fudged and slams into 1st and 2nd, like hard slams..

Haven't seen it mentioned in the Colorado/Canyon forums. Everyone there loves the 8 speed. Maybe a different vehicle/torque converter? I did drive a Chevy Tahoe for several days that had some hill decent assist feature that would do a hard downshift on steep hills. Other than that, I couldn't tell when it was shifting up or down.

I can find no evidence of this problem on the twins. I even checked with some ZR2 owners. There was an issue with the 2016 Sierra, but that's a different power train. The 2017 AT gets noting but love from owners of the twins.

Bought myself a forest service MB around 10 years ago, cherried it out, got it looking and running right, military colors & badging. I live on the side of a volcano, steep steep slippery driveway over half mile tall. MB's brakes could slow it down somewhat, with all my leg muscles pushing hard as can and 4-banger revving in low/low, praying it wouldn't pop out of gear. My romantic memories of driving these as a teen went down the tube. Easy to sell, though.

Yup. I had a '54 Korean War surplus M38A1 jeep--got it from an ad in Popular Mechanics. It ran pretty good but stopping was not one of its strong points...

More trinkets. (some call it 'tech')

Something will have more LED, 'cause trendy. And maybe some 'blackout' bits for the anti chrome team.

3 new colors. All non metallic and water based thin.

    Higher price.

Retains behemoth grill, bargain basement tires, underfilled auto transmissions and leaky differentials.

Tires on OR are pretty decent. I don't mind the grill, and my trans and differential are fine. A Diesel option would be cool to see...

I'm, surprised no information on the '18 pricing etc. yet. Its already the second half of July. When did they release pricing etc. for the the 2017's?

I'm wondering how much the additional safety technology will bump up the prices. I'm not expecting much for changes other than the new safety equipment though.

I heard same it will be the same truck generally when I bought my 17 two weeks ago. Maybe they'll put in homelink mirrors and greaseable u-joints.
