Very interesting license plate mount. Is that mounted the inside of the tailgate? Any special purpose for it aside from not needing to drill into the front of the tailgate?

Anyone here use a scan gauge? Been kicking around the idea of getting one to keep an eye on engine temps. Not sure what the price usually is, but apparently the price is nose diving. $79xx last I checked.

Assume this one is 1st gen compatible?

I use an Ultragauge but same basic thing, saved my bacon more than once. Nice to have a corrected speedometer too.

Last I checked on lowrangeoffroad they were 150, it could be different now.

Edit: 160 right now but there's a sale going on to save $10. It's the scan gauge 2 not the original one. Idk the differences between the two

Attached the cheap bracket that comes with the fire extinguisher to my toolbox ̶t̶o̶d̶a̶y̶ yesterday. Testing by hand, hard corners and over the asphalt berm at the end of the driveway all show it holds just fine. Would prefer a better bracket, but until then this works.

That's a helluva deal, and I'm now $80 poorer. I've wanted one for a while, hard to pass up at almost 1/2 price.

Hopefully no one takes it, just curious why mount outside on a daily driver. I'd mount where you can grab it as you escape. Like side of seat.

I mounted it outside because if anything catches, inside or outside, my first instinct will likely be to GTFO. And it's mounted close to the door, so it'll be easy to access.
Suppose there is the risk of theft, but it's not something I imagine people are going to want to steal, though people will steal the most unlikely things. If it gets stolen, I might move it inside.
Also, if any bystander needs it for w/e reason, they can use it. I'd rather it get used by someone who needs it (be it me or someone else) than it sit for years and get replaced.

Temperature did cross my mind, but during the Summer, the cab gets hotter than the outside when the windows are closed. Though direct sunlight can be pretty damn hot. The extinguisher says to not expose it to temps exceeding 120°F so I doubt even the hotter Summer days should be an issue. But the biggest risk you really have with overheating, to my understanding, is loss of power/pressure in the unit since modern extinguishers are designed with some sort of o-ring or something that allows high pressures to be released to avoid bursting. Exploding would be a fringe risk, if any at all.

That's correct. I currently live near the east gate. My dad worked on F4 Phantoms for years there

Happy birthday brother!!! My second home was my gpas at thornydale and ina. gunsite pass is in the santa ritas, take i10 towards patagonia and there are alot of trails out there, just be sure to take a loaded gun(no joke) alot of illegals cross through there. havent been out there in years, especially with the recent copper mining going on, but its a pass that crosses south to north over the mountain and looks over the vallye. if you are there and dont see a blackhawk border patrol helicopter, id be surprised. I now live in dallas, tx area, here for work- aviation related.
