I fail

Yes I admit it. I am man enough to know and admit that I FAILED. I failed so bad the universe should implode on itself. I divided by zero and spent the day paying for it.
All I wanted to do was get some yard waste out of the back yard today, and get all the planters emptied and ready for the wifes patio garden. All I needed to do was back up the truck to the patio so I could start loading things in and haul them off. Well, that was not to be. I went too far down the hill. I tried to to get out but couldn't back up, so I went forward. That was THE mistake. As I tried to get turned around so I could get out I started to spin. OK I thought, I'll just throw this thing into 4LO and get out of here no problem. WRONG!!!!!!!!!! I ended up making it worse. No traction, over 8 inches of slick Carolina clay was keeping me bogged down.
Even my neighbor offered to come over with his Land Rover and pull me out. Hell yeah, a "Hummer Recovery Vehicle!!" If anything can get me out his Land Rover can. WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even he got stuck. So instead of getting me out, we had to get him out which took just about over an hour. Finally Mrs. Jmzd4 came home with the boys from church. Did she have any words of encouragement for me? No, she started to laugh hysterically. Not only that the Kids were doing the Nelson HA HA. FML......I finally had to admit to my universal FAIL and called AAA to come winch me out.
I look back at the utter devisation that was once my back yard and hang my head in shame. I am embaraced, my self esteem is laying in shambles upon the ground on which I walk.
Well the wife wants a garden, well I'll give her a fucking garden. I pick my head up, stomp the mud off my shoes, and tell her I'm going to rent a tiller from Home Depot so she can have her damn garden. The trip there was a little nerve racking to say the least. There was so much mud in my wheels the truck was off balance and I thought that I was going to loose control any second. Another 45 minutes later and I have the tiller in hand and in the back yard gassed up and ready to go. Nevermind that I had to fight the ruts with the tiller that were once my back yard, the mud was super fucking sloppy. I had to fight that tiller and clay mud every inch of the way.
Another 2 hours later, I'm done, the plot for the garden is tilled, the tiller cleaned, the wheel wells on the truck free of mud, and on my way back to Home depot to return the tiller. Upon my return to the homestead I find that the wife has cooked dinner for me. Baked taters with chili, yummmmmy.
Well folks that about ends this tale of woe. But I will leave you with a picture of what my FAIL consisted of. This is after we got the Land Rover out. Here you will see me holding my tow strap, and my neighbor with the Land Rover laughing at me behind my back. My cousin took the picture. You will also see some wood boards that we used to get the Land Rover out. We did try these for my truck, but it was just no use. Yes I FAIL, utterly and completely FAIL.

 

dude thats not even bad if i had my camera you would of seen what an idiot i was lol. i got stuck and another 14 trucks who tried to get getting each other out got stuck lol

 

You need a locker.

People NOT from the Carolinas may underestimate the Red clay! That stuff is slick as snot when wet!

 

Did you move the steering wheel back and forth (turning the wheels left and right) while in 4Hi and gassing it? That has ALWAYS worked for me.

 

it happens, i got stuck trying to pull a jeep out ... but in my defense the jeep ended up having to be winched out by a heavy duty AAA wrecker.

 

oh yeah, but the clay was so slick the ruts just got worse, therefore I couldn't get anywhere

You have sport so Iam assuming you are most likely have dunlops on that thing right ? Dunlops are horrible in mud there is not enough tread on them. Next time anybody is in the same pickle first thing to do before you hang on the frame is to reduce tire pressure all way down to 15 psi.
Too bad you guys are so far I would have come with my Land Cruiser to pull you all out.
LC - not a fast car but it will get in and out of anywhere.

 

What's worse is that not only do you now have to clean the truck, but you have to fix all the ruts too.

well the tiller pretty much fixed all the ruts, but I have yet to clean the truck. I was waiting for the mud in the cab to dry so it willl be a bit easier

 

Bummer man. My roommate got stuck in some NC clay in his 4Runner this weekend...took almost an hour in the rain to get him out.

In the end everyone is out and no damage done.

 

Fail sauce!.... What am I talking I have a 2wd, and i am pretty sure i would have got stuck too.
