You're right. Edited to fix stupidity. lol I meant pulley.

Hmmm.. ok. yes, regardless I would like to find a smaller s/c belt. I'll start there.

Mm.. I don't know what else to tell you about the qwikchange pulley. As of current I am one of the few if not only member on here to have it on my blower. It is an awesome setup which works it's purpose well, for me required a shorter 69.5" length belt. I used Dayco belt 5PK1765 for it and has a massively insane grip on the pulley now compared to the 70.5" Dayco belt I was prior using. Also the pulley size is offered in 2.8, 2.7, 2.6 and 2.5 flavors. With the option if going custom smaller I'm sure if you were to contact "Pulley boys" about it. A snout cutter would be needed after going down past 2.8, but I'm sure you know that.

If you'd like I can link you to the original thread where I was measuring and ultimately installing out the new pulley?

The gates belt you were using likely had a better micro V rib profile setup over the OE one. Regardless they still sounded like they were the same length.

My belt is a W rib design so once it bites down into the pulley ribs it compresses the small W designs of the belt into each rib for extra gripping power.

Got it. Ok, so that pulley isnt necessarily needed. I do plan on going to the 2.7, once I get my hands on an EMS, but will just cut the snout and do the 2.7.

That belt tho is where I will start. Appreciate it! just to clarify, you are referring to the s/c belt (Dayco 5pk1765)? What are you using for the Serp belt?

perfect. ordered. I want to try it and get a comparison vs the OE belt. That, plus the boost/vacuum smoke test this weekend will hopefully narrow down my loss in boost issue.

My blower belt isnt even old either. I'll keep it as a backup.

It is weird that I gained ~2 lbs back with that Gates Sero belt. makes me want to dig around there too... but I'll start with the s/c belt.

Start with the simple stuff. SC belt first then rule potential pulley slippage in as well once the belt is on. Don't remove your supercharger if you plan to replace plugs either, if you do your own services invest in some short and long extensions, fine mechanism snap on ratchets and obviously the spark plug socket itself I think 5/8, most importantly patience. I did my own spark plug service without removing the blower within an hour recently but I couldn't had done it without the listed tools above. Doing this minimizes the chance of creating vacuum leaks that otherwise did not used to exist.

If you are going for maximizing performance step up your plugs to IKH-24 Den so plugs. They are awesome.

You did what I did, kept the OE belt as a backup just in case.

Just did my plugs a few weeks ago. I've torn into the blower a couple times now, so that gasket is definitely a potential factor. I am a bit anal though, so I take my time and make sure its seated as perfectly as possible. I did not want to mess with extensions and fighting to get the plugs out.

I thought about stepping up my plugs, but went with factory boosted plugs.. the 22's I believe.

I'm also finding conflicting information on that Dayco belt. I'm finding it labeled as Dayco 5050695.

You really gotta drop the anality for a second. Hahaha. 5050695 is the long number for it. They are the same belt. Call Pep Boys or your local parts store who supplies it and you will find it is the same exact thing.

I still don't know why you would rather remove the blower than avoid it all together if you have the option, but that is a horse of a different color.

IKH-22 is decent but if you want smoothie drivability, idle, AFR ranges, the 24's are where it's at.

Because pulling the blower really isnt that hard and gets the plugs done faster. :notsure: worked for me.

I'll pick up that belt for this weekend. The plugs... maybe I'll try em next go around.

No biggie. Whatever works for you man! I just like to minimize possibilities of complications is why I prefer to leave it on rather than pulling it off.

These findings, once all sorted out, should be put into a new thread, or TRD s/c thread.

the thought definitely crossed my mind. I took a look at it, and just didnt want to mess with it. I know how to pull it and just wanted to get them done, so stuck with what I knew worked.

If you installed the blower on your own than the advantage of familiarity definitely helps. I did myself, but I just didn't want to deal with that evil. Lol.

The ECGS wait is long. So I think you're still better off than my route. It's been 3 weeks as of yesterday, and I'm suppose to get them tomorrow. Fucking fedex
