The only thing I can do is speculate for you as my dealings were as smooth as you could hope for. I'm assuming you are within warranty.
1.If it were my truck I would take it in before the lift....Then you eliminate any possibility of them turning you down for that reason all together.
2.I would let them know that the truck rides very rough when towing or carrying loads just as the TSB states.

I can't say much more as I think this is one of those situations where "less is more"....With the TSB in hand let them know you are expierencing exactly what it states......The less you say the better.

I'm kind of ticked off. I have an 08 dbl cab and just learned about this tsb about a week ago. My truck has 37,000+ mls and when I called about the tsb they said they would not do it because my warrenty was up. I'm mad because I've had my truck in for service several times and this problem was never mentioned. I think if there is a problem with my truck I shouldn't have to track the problem down myself they should tell me about it. Is there anything I can do?

IF you are experiencing this problem with a harsh ride,;), you have to complain about it to your dealers service department and they will perform the TSB on it. That is, they will if you bother them enough about the problem.

Some people have been able to get it done over warranty, and it is like yours where it is barely over, but I consider those the lucky ones. Most likely you are SOL on this one unless you can find a dealer in the area that will take pity on your plight. Also, They don't have to mention TSB's, they aren't a recall or anything like it. They are based on customer's complaints only. If you didn't complain about the harsh ride, they are not obliged to assist you with the TSB.

Just picked up my '10 TRD OR DC from the dealer today, ECM reflash, and brand new 4 leaf, leaf springs in the back. Rides much better with a solid feeling rear end and no weird downshifting. Now I need the Billie 5100s for the front to level her out...

Don't know, but when I was getting mine done I looked at all the Tacoma's on the lot....none had the TSB not even the offroads and these were all '10's. Must have been 10 trucks I looked at. Check it before you buy it.

Went to my dealer in Clinton Iowa for oil change and to let them know about the harsh ride on my 08 taco trd. I even loaded it up with 500lbs of softener salt. Mechanic took it for a ride and said it has a problem. the service manager thought there was a tsb on it but wasn't sure. Later the service manager came to me and told me that the trd was not in the tsb so I went to my truck got my copy out to show him they were included . He then said he would reserch things and call me. 5 days went by he finnally called and said he will order the parts. Got he springs put in today. They're great. When he got done with my truck I asked him about the alignment he said my truck doesn't get one. I didn't have the tsb with me today cause I really didn't think I would need it. So I get home and read the tsb again and it states when leaf springs are replaced that an alignment is required. Called the serviced manager and he said that they wouldn't do it cause my truck is not included. so I called another dealer and they said it should have been done. Now what ???????? I really don't trust them to do anything on my truck. What a nightmare !!!

I read in a previous question- Oshnjoe - that his VDS wasn't in the back of the TSB for alignment specs. I can not find mine as well. LU4EN1 - TRD OR 4x4 DC. I had my tran reflashed but considering this as well.

    Any comments?

Just got mine back yesterday and it is 1 1/4 higher. I can feel the difference as it doesnt bounce as much which is great. They did not align it because they said it does not need it?????? I am not sure if this is true but did not want to make any waves yet. The service manager said he had to jump thru hoops to get this done for me !!Anybody have some input???

I contacted a local dealer and they told me because I have 37,109 miles that they cannot help me, but that the dealership where I purchased my truck may be able to do something. I have left two messages with the service manager and have not got a call back. I did talk to one of the service techs and he said he would make it a point to bring this matter to the managers attention. I guess I'll have to wait until monday to find out.

Ok this may have been beaten to death- but...

I just purchased a 2005 4x4 TRD (with TRD Supercharger :))with 18k miles and a Gold Extended warranty, I tow a boat and load the bed for my camping needs- the SF Bay Area dealers are telling me they have to call Toyota before I can bring it in to verify "if" I need the TSB.

This sounds like my experience with my defunct 99 Durango (big waste of $$) and the stealerships- will I need to replace my own springs or do I need to be more of a a-hole with them?

    Thanks Taco World

The Dealer called and said the parts are in for my 2010 dc SR5 4X4. Work scheduled for next Tuesday with a loaner to be provided.:)

Today I went out and measured the air gap between the top of the axle bumper & the bumper stop plate on the frame. It is 3.25 inches
This is with the original 3 leaf package and after jumping up and down on the rear bumper a few times

I'll let you know what that gap is after 4 leaf package is installed

I have an 09 TRD Offroad. I leased it though. Do you think the dealer will still do this, or because it is a lease they wont?

I really want to get this done, there is a good chance I will purchase the truck after the lease is up, want to get this done now, don't want to have any issue this summer when I fill my truck up with mulch, and top soil for the gardens.

I called my dealer and talked to a service rep, I explained the problem, he got back to me (about 20 mn) said they would order the parts and will call me for an appointment, absolutely painless, I didn't have to prove anything. Since I have purchased my Toyota I have had nothing but GREAT service, and that means a lot to me. Doc
