Gay's in the Military, What the troops think about Civilians making that decision.

Here is what we have to look forward too.

 

Why is pink related to gays? I'm straight and I'm currently laying in bed with a pink blanket. And the guages in my truck are blue and pink.

Well there isn't another guy with me. I just think the pink goes with my room. Blue pillows and comforter. So the pink blanket is spread out under the comforter.

 

Do all your outfits match too?? Belt and shoes?? You might be....

 

There would be TONS, and i mean TONS of things they would have to revise before they could let this happen. It sure would be an ass-pain (so to speak...) for whoever had to do revisions on the UCMJ

 

No comment, don't ask don't tell has been working pretty well. If it aint broke, why fix it.

That's what I say!
If it is open for gays to announce their sexual preference I am pretty sure some guys are gonna want separate barracks for the same reason women have their own.

 

I'd have to pull out my UCMJ manual and I don't have it here...but I can only think of 1 thing that would need changing (and I guarantee there are straight people guilty of that article as well...)

Plus there are tons of JAGs around who are good at stuff like that....and Admin/Paperwork load is an every worse reason to keep DADT in place than "It's what we have always done"

 

It's pretty laughable that many on here think they are "squared away bad-asses" but while they wear the uniform of their nation they don't have the discipline to avoid physically assaulting another service member because of his/her lifestyle or the courage and integrity to stand up and stop it if it were happening. I guess you all are too wrapped up in how hardcore and awesome you think you are that you forgot that you are in fact a defender of your nation, of everything that's good and bad about it and that your orders come from civilians. There's a very good reason that the framers of the constitution gave supreme authority over the military to civilians. I'm not saying that I think now is the time to integrate gays into the military but all the arguments I've seen in this thread against it are the exact same arguments that racists were making in 1948. Many of these arguments make the ridiculous assertion that if gays are allowed to openly serve they'll be running around in pink and flaunting their sexuality like it was a gay pride parade in downtown San Fransisco. Obviously this wont be the case as their behavior and dress will be regulated just as it is right now through the various services uniform regulations and the UCMJ. All service members, regardless of sexual orientation are required to maintain professional appearance and conduct.
For those of you in uniform who insist that physical violence will ensue should the force be opened to gays, maybe you should think about new careers because there isn't any room in my service for people who demonstrate that type of bigotry and lack of moral character.

So where is the "infringement" in repealing DADT?? What about the fact that gays have to hide their identities or deny themselves the opportunity to serve their country with the current state of affairs??

How about the gays that currently serving and have to listen to guys in the barracks recount their sexual conquests from the weekend hooker?? How is that NOT an infringement of their rights?? (I'm not gunna lie- I'm straight and there are guys who I've told to shut up about their sex lives)

Is this a joke? Why would a gay infantryman on patrol in an area hostile enough to require pulling security while you took your shit be doing anything but pulling security? Does being gay mean you're desire to catch a peek of cock overwhelms your desire to stay alive? Get real, man.

 

Open gays in the shower is equal to mixing males and females in the shower.

We don't mix males and females in the shower for a reason.

 

No it's not at all. Cause I guarantee you have showered near to a gay guy at some point. Just cause you know doesn't mean a damn thing.

And we don't mix genders because we have a fairly prude society- Several other successful national military's don't have the same rules...They drink when deployed and they have unisex bathrooms...No issues.

And again- How is it an infringement??

 

I said ALL...Not just the work stuff.

And I only wear the zoom bag anymore...so it's all olive drab all the time for me.
