    :jerkoff::jerkoff::jerkoff::jerkoff::jerkoff:

Both of our trucks are getting serious....

If I wasn't doing all this electrical and gearing and rearend stuff, I would have definitely gotten in on that winch deal.

Went out to Barnwell to wheel a bit and try to put the new winch to use! I meet up with @ETXTacoma and after airing down we hit some trails. It rained this weekend so the red clay was slick and i ended up getting stuck at the top of a hill climb. Steven made it up with a little more peddle pressure and a locker, however i have an open diff so i wasnt going any further... So we busted out the tow rope and that didnt work... winch time!

Worked like a champ and i was at the top of the hill 5 minutes later. We went back to camp to eat and ended up doing an easy night trail but i didnt get any photos.

Now i know it doesnt look like much, but on the incline, slick clay, open diff, and having a trail limo can get you stuck on stupid stuff. Maybe some meatier tires would have helped a bit....

Thanks for coming out and sorry about all the red mud....

Glad we got to put that winch to work. Next time we are out there we should do that trail again and see if you can get up with if the ground is dry.

I think that i could have made it if it were dry. Also the video you have of the attempt where i went to far right... i think i had good momentum on that one and could have made it on that try had gotten a better line.

Either way im down to try it again. Just need to buy a new cabin air filter, pick a dry weekend, and try it again! New air filter is for after ive been running my AC on high the whole weekend in all that red dust! @SuperBad 's filter looked awful after Jambo! haha

My filter was surprisingly really clean. I checked it and figured i'd have to replace it after I got home but it was not needed. Cant remember who's I saw that looked really bad.

umm, i would say its close to ~110lbs total. Its an aluminum bumper so its about ~60lbs, plus the winch is another ~50-60lbs.

Hope this helps, are you getting one??

Well I have a membership for Barnwell now... so I don't mind the drive to go hang out for a day or so just to play on a couple trails and test things out.

Will need to test out the new rear end later in the year anyways.

Well its about 2.5 hours drive for me to get there so i will be out there for at least over night from now on. Those cabins looked pretty decent for the price, plus a/c during the summer is totally worth it!

Very true. Not bad at all for just $50.00!

I had a small mod day... I took my truck to the car was to spray off as much mud as i could, took the dogs to the park, stopped by home depot on the way home and bought an ax & shovel to mount with my brackets. Partly because i wanted the combo in the back at all times, and partly so that i could get some photos to post on my website.

While i was at it, i decided to hook up a couple mounts for my fishing poles. I used the small quick fist mounts to hold the handles and then i used velcro to hold the tips of the rods. I figured the velcro is a cheap and easy way to secure the tips.

I bought the same axe from HD. Worked well add a hammer when I was out camping and realized I forgot to pack one for the text stakes...

Seems like a decent ideal. I havent locked mine down yet but I only carry them on trips or offroading. Think I'll need to drill a hole in the axe handle to take a cable lock of some sort.
