Great thing is I picked Dillon, ragan, allmendinger, Elliott, and Cassill as my draft kings lineup. Up $150 right now.

I forgot about the race, caught final 5 laps. Sheesh. Glad I missed it.

Of all the drivers, I believe Danica has the worst luck of all. Her gnarly crashes at plate tracks and general ability to get caught up in other's wrecks perpetuates the superstition that women at the track are bad luck.
I think the old racer's superstitions are: Don't have a green car, don't run the #13, don't eat peanuts before the race, don't let a woman sit in your car, and don't shave on race day.

Like Tony Stewart once said about Elliot Sadler. " Getting caught up in that wreck with Elliot was totally my fault. I should know better than to be anywhere near him on a race track. The same about Danica stay away from her..

Man. Still seems weird not having a race on July 4th. Today feels kind of absent without a Firecracker 400 even if they haven't traditionally run it on July 4th since 1987.

Am I sensing some hostility towards lunchmeat drivers?

I went for a drive with 30 to go. I figured that'd be more entertaining.

I do think it's funny that Ricky has to win for Danica to get to victory lane. :angrygirl:

    Per Jayski:

POTENTIAL Free-Agent Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Regulars AFTER the 2017 season
    #43-Aric Almirola (contract ends 2017)
#37-Chris Buescher (on loan from RFR to JTG)
    #41-Kurt Busch (contract ends 2017)
#77-Erik Jones (one year deal w/Furniture Row, but under contract with JGR)
#5-Kasey Kahne (contract thru 2018 but sponsors leaving)
    #20-Matt Kenseth (contract ends 2017)
    #2-Brad Keselowski (contract ends 2017)
    #1-Jamie McMurray (contract status unknown)
#27-Paul Menard (usually works on a year-to-year deal)
    #10-Danica Patrick (uncertainty over sponsorship)
    #43-Bubba Wallace (contract status unknown)
    I'll add:
#21- Ryan Blaney (on loan from Penske to Wood Brothers)
#13- Ty Dillon (on loan from RCR to Germain)

And of these, I'll suspect we'll see some movement:

#77 and #20 swap. It's pretty apparent Gibbs is giving better stuff to the 77 than the 20. That or Kenseth is losing his edge. Daytona was the first time all season he's shown some muscle.

#5 All signs point to Kahne out at Hendrick at season's end, even though he has a contract through next year. Hendrick has a history of buying out driver's contracts to put them out to pasture.

    #20 see #77 above^

#27 Regretably, it looks like they're going to the #21

#10 Like Kahne, Danica has one more year on her contract, but sponsorship woes might send her packing.

#43 Bubba might wind up at Front Row, as Almirola is loved by his sponsors (even if he doesn't eat their trash food). I imagine he could put up better numbers than other former Roush driver David Ragan. I'd love to see Cassill and Wallace as teammates. Front Row has formed a tech alliance with Roush (and Roush is improving) and they're are FINALLY getting support from Ford.

#21 Blaney looks to be headed to #12 with Penske and a grab-bag of Penske sponsors.

#13 When Menard moves to Wood Brothers (sigh), it will open up space for Ty Dillon at Pop-pop's shop. Sponsorship will be the big one here. Geico is a longtime Germain sponsor, so I doubt they'd jump ship with Ty. Perhaps RCR will bring Germain closer under the umbrella with resources.

That race is always hot as hell, the September race is the one I go to once in a while. I used to enjoy the trucks, but they change that around a while ago and I haven't gone back since.
