seen dozens of the 262C bertone, albeit not so many any more, as mid 80s Volvos are suffering from biodegradable insulation as well as a rather funky inline 6 cyl for which parts are very hard to get. never much cared for that one, with its lowered roof line, its a car for tiny people.

now, this one is a little more rare, and IMHO, a much cooler car:

Volvo 780 Bertone, was a 2-door coupe based on the 760 sedan, body and interior entirely assembled by Bertone in Italy. I owned one new in 1989 for 6 months. Only a few 1000 total were made. Mine was whisper quiet on the freeway at 120 MPH, smooth as silk on even a bumpy road, yet handled like a responsive sports car.

This one has locked Jeep axles, t-case and an LS swap. Saw it here in so-cal and chatted with the driver for a bit.

One day in the early 90s I came across one of those in a garage/barn in semi-rural Pennsylvania. I was looking for a late 60s MGB at the time. The Stag looked like it hadn't been run in years and was covered by a lot of tarps and dust. Still, it was complete and probably could have started up with a little TLC. The guy offered it to me for $2000, I think, but still the idea of taking on an obscure Triumph scared the crap out of me -- and this from a guy looking for a $500 MGB.

In 1987 , the 2 wheel drive version of the Ford explorer came with a transfer case .
No front diff and no front drive shaft , but a functioning transfer case ?
Ford had the better idea didnt they ?

It wasnt a Ford it was the Suzuki Samurai. Quote from the website Pirate 4X4 "The Samurai has a 1.4 gear reduction in high range and an offset rear diff. The 2wd Sammy still needs the gear reduction and to offset the drive shaft, so they toss a case it there with a block off plate where the shifter and front output housing bolts on."

We have all seen this car before, (Superbird), but this was the drivers education stick shift car for my high school in Evansville, Indiana.

The local dealer loaned it to the high school. Looked crazy with the student driver sign on the back. Was way cool, sounded great, and fun to learn stick shift on.

Cool sh!t, but the dummies selling it don't know a Golden Spirit (Mustang-based) from a Quicksilver (Fiero-based).

That would explain why the engine pics don't make sense...

This was new to me, but apparently I'm just out the loop with these. Don't think you can rent many though. This is in Gorham NH, where ATVs are allowed on the main roads. 1990 Suzuki Everyvan, lifted. ATV for scale.

No, the V-8 in the 55 Chevy was NOT the first V-8 Chevy built...this was offered in a 1917 Chevy.

They do! It's called the XLR. They did it right this time. Mostly a corvette with a heavy Cadillac body and retractable hard top.

There is one down the road from me. Only one I have ever seen in real life. Such a flop.
