If it's a manual it shouldn't have a park... right... something ain't adding up here...

Manual transmission Tacoma's don't have "park".

If yours is an automatic transmission truck, you blew the fuse to the tail lights. The fuse is inside the fuse box in the cab.

Blowing a fuse holds you back from shifting into drive, neutral, etc? I've never heard of that.

In a 2nd gen? That can't be right. So your saying if I blow my tail light fuse, and I need a new one, and the only vehicle I have available is the truck that just blew a fuse, your saying I can't drive it? That's insane talk

Did you drive in water lately? Do you think you might have a frozen brake.

Put the truck in 4low and see if you can move it.

Ummm, this is dumfounding me. I would jack up the rear end, keep it in neutral and try to spin the tires in the rear. If they don't spin and your ebrake isn't engaged, then something is stuck for sure. I would not try putting it in gear and giving gas, you will break things that way. If it isn't the ebrake, maybe a caliper or multiple calipers are stuck. This is very weird for such a almost new vehicle.

Isn't there the bypass by the shifter?

On the automatics, yes. Wrecker trucks use this to get the truck into neutral.

I use the term "frozen", as things are rusted tight, not as in ice.

Tell me about it. I was screwing around with my stereo and blew a fuse. I knew what I did. I didn't know I blew the tail light fuse as well. Went to hop in the truck the next morning at 04:30. Truck started great, but wouldn't go in gear. Wife was not happy carting me to work on her day off.
