Out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know CA's lemon law on recalls? Is there a time limit where it can be filed for?

I don't know how recalls change the law but it's 30 days without the vehicle (doesn't have to be consecutive) or if they're unable to repair the issue in a "reasonable" number of attempts.

How does one go about filing? I'm only a week and a half in, but it's probably good to know.

I went through this pamphlet after my truck went back in the second time.

It looks like you can apply for arbitration (which is covered by the manufacturer) here: www.lemonlaw.ca.gov

So I called the Nhtsa and they asked me if I wanted to file a complain. I said no I will wait till Tuesday to wait to hear from the CEO assistant had to say. Although the Nhtsa told me that they have 60 days to do the repair but they're not obligated to and Nhtsa told me if I do not like the answer that I get from the CEOs assistant to call back and file a complain.

When just in time manufacturing bites you in the ass......

Day 66. All parts at dealer minus the drain bolt gasket. Yeah that's right. The drain bolt gasket. o_O Email to CEO got me a phone call this morning and that's what I'm waiting for. They're going to "expedite" it.

I just went in for my 20000 mile service and told the dealership that my diff is weeping. I checked a head to see if I was on the recall list which I am not. The dealership looked at it and said they were going to replace the gasket. They said they hadn't seen a taco with the weeping that wasn't on the recall list. I just thought I would share my experience.

I spoke to my Toyota representative about my truck to see if my parts came in for the differential recall. He said two of the parts came in and wasn't sure on when the rest will come in! Anyone come across this situation? — feeling frustrated.

Is yours in bad shape? I thought it was just gasket & new bolts if excessive
leaking is not found and level is 'good'?

Had the same conversation this morning. Was waiting on drain / fill plug gaskets but they showed up today. I get to pick it up tomorrow after work.

Does anyone believe they will have all of the inherent design flaws and poor quality parts worked out for 2018?Toyota seems happy selling 175 to 200 K units a year flaws and all.

The new business model in the U.S. is to lower quality and raise prices into declining sales.I see no reason why Toyota would be motivated to spend an extra $500 to $1000 per truck to drastically improve the build quality and customer satisfaction.

Discussed with SM, he told me that if the truck failed to start then battery will be replaced. Also he will have my Taco washed before hand over.
Over 50 days and still counting

It's minor seepage, but what's frustrating is that Toyota doesn't know when the parts will come in...they need shipment tracking!
