I will probably buy a siphon pump. With me having to drive my company vehicle it's going to take to long to empty the tank.

I run a tuner on my fuel injected Harley. The map they sent wasn't made for my bike, just a tune they did for anothe rbike at a different altitude, the tuner has a quick tune feature that allowed me to play with the timing and fuel (Low-Med-High) and letting me add +/- 1-4. I live at 7000ft and there isnt enough air to run 91 up here, my Audi RS6 kicks codes unless I run cheaper fuel. Will this tuner have a function like this? Does it have the ability to adapt and change fuel and timing curves like the power commander deal I have for my bike?

At this point, my understanding is that the tune will be specific to your vehicle and location. Based on what OV has for their other vehicles (lexus with a similar engine), a handheld unit is a possibility. It may take a while to get that complete and ready for sale though.

Quite sure it's much quicker than the 6.8-7 secs that someone said is stock time, and I've got a shell and some other added weight from stock. I'll try to clock it today after work. It's been fun driving it. It's like it should have been stock, with the throttle response. When I approach yellow lights, I've been stopping so I could be first off the line and let er rip. And while it's not a sports car off the line, and I don't expect it to be, it's so much quicker and faster. Does it have extra boost at the low end ? I seem to think so, based on some inclines I've taken. Yesterday, I took a F-150 off the line headed up a slight hill. Granted, he had a trailer with a mini-scissor lift on it, but I could tell he tried and it felt good. I've had the tune now thru the 4 day weekend and it seems like it's still "breaking in" a little bit. To me, the throttle and shifting issues have been addressed and I've got some noticeable extra HP and torque. So for that, it's worth it. Beyond that, I'm looking forward to the further updates to the tune to see what OV does to dial it in and get more out of the engine.

Would it be possible to change when you can turn traction control off with the button that's by the crawl control/MTS selector knob in the off road models? When in 2hi or 4hi and over 30mph there's no way to disable it and when in 2hi it doesn't allow it regardless of speed.

Research? Why? In this thread, show me the post where OVtune stated
what you just wrote - "Btw, the OVTune is only is S+ mode."

Here's a new kinda off the wall possibility - how about being able to engage the rear locker when in 2wd or 4x4 high?

That would be nice. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in that one. The 2nd gen was a simple wire splice and a switch or something along those lines. Not so sure about 3rd gen. I feel like it was asked somewhere in this thread but with 96 pages, it's probably buried somewhere and I'm not sure if it was even answered.

Yes please. I've wanted this since day one. If the logic for it is in the TCM or ECU they can probably change it but if its not it probably wouldn't be worth their time.

It'd be cool but I can't imagine it'd be ecu controlled? But then again I don't want to sound like the S mode guy...

He mentioned 20-30 pages back that "S" or "S+" in the lexus has equal tuning to the tacoma when you engage "ECT".
S+ on the Tacoma just lets you shift on your own. It is engaging "ECT" that makes everything more aggressive.

I have an even a smaller post count than @rj_taco, so go easy on me...

Does anyone know what brand of data logger is coming with the kit? I tried to look back through the thread to see if I could find it, but every time I get to the food pics, I start drooling then get up and go the fridge

I am just curious because it seems like that we are not only getting an awesome tune, but possibly a nice tool that can be used outside of gathering data for @OVTune. Any thoughts on what the data logger is or what else it can be used for? Or how accessible the data is to us?

From looking at their website, my wild guess is Tactrix. https://www.tactrix.com/

I'm not an early adopter so I won't be hopping on this bandwagon any time soon.

With that said though, I've been following along for all 97 pages. I don't recall anyone requesting that the tune kill the computer generated rev hang on the manuals. I don't know if anyone would buy this product for that reason alone but if they were on the fence, that would be a good reason to go ahead and get it. Most of us really want full control of the truck which is why we bought a manual transmission in the first place.
