Clean VHF/CB radio installs

I just bought a

$18 Baofeng UV-5R VHF/UHF Dual Band Radio 144-148MHz 420-450MHz Transceiver

Baofeng UV-5R. I will look into getting a license in the fall.

 

What site did you use?

 

btw. actually you can transmit without a license, in an emergency situation.
example; you are at a crash site people are hurt, your cell phone is dead.

cuz wouldn't it suck to tell that person sorry you cant call for help because you
don't have a license to use that radio?
any power, any frequency, any time.

use good common sense.

Firestik , Coax, and an amp for the PA system. Am I missing anything? and do you know of any good amps that are cheap?

Wouldn't you need an amplifier to use that speaker?

 

You wouldn't but I want my PA system to be loud and everyone who I have asked said that isn't achieved without an amp

 

What amp are you going with? I've been having issues finding one that isn't subwoofer level power (300-400 watts)

That wiring diagram on the back looks confusing, which ones do the wires go on

 

The cb will amplify it. 5 to 10 watts.

 

So I believe you can just utilize the 3.5 mm Jacks in the front. Don't quote me I don't know anything about this, but my speaker has a 3.5 connector and Im assuming I can just get a male to male 3.5 to run from the amp to the CB

EDIT: Just realized the front jacks are all input

 

Everything on the front is purely input ports, you wire on the back screws

 

I have the Ranger and it has the 3.5. 1 for the external speaker. 1 for the pa speaker. And 1 for the Morse code adapter.

 

Yea sorry I edited my last post, just realized that. Well If its like my home sound system was I had to cut off the jack and then you just unscrew one of the connection points on the back of the amp and then fasten the bare wire to the connection point with the screw

 

How loud is your PA?

Don't know yet. Just order the speaker. Will have it tomorrow. But there's a amp built in for the pa. Think it's 5 or 10. It's a ranger 2970N4.
