Make sure the entire drain tube run is always at a down slope. Don't let any part of it run "upwards". Try to run it under the A/C lines. Also, where is the oil pan tap? If oyu can tap it on the side of the pan and have the oil drain line run right down the side of the engine that might be a better setup. Probably need a custom length drain tube.

The feed and drain lines on the turbo should idealy be straight up and down.

The 45* clock is a pretty big issue. Can you clock the turbo more so the drain is closer to 0* (90*/straight up and down)? Mine was about 20-30* off and I had oil pooling in my trubo. Its now about 15-10* and drains much better. It will also slow down the spool as you will have too much oil in your bearing housing. Unless its a journel bearing turbo, you don't want a ton of oil.

45º is too much. I think BW calls for no more that 30º. Don't quote that though as it might be even less. Basically and industry standard for the angle.

That will be where your oil leak is coming from. It is bypassing the seals. Correcting the center cartridge angle will definitely help.

Are u talking about in and out of the turbo? It is pretty much straight up and down, i thought u meant where it does back into the motor. Which is on the little plate (timing cover plate???) u can see it in the first pic i sent of the oil line

Thats perfect. Now make sure the drain tube is also a straight shot. If it runs back up, oil can pool in the tube and can get air locked. Its just a gravity drain and the oil viscosity doesn't help. The drain tube should be as vertical as possible as well.

What filter are you using, btw?

How many ply is the filter? Any good? I like mine but its a bit big and I'm looking for a more compact filter.

Heck if i know haha, i mean i guess it serves a purpose ive ran it like 3000 miles or so and the only explosion has been my oil line (and now a seal in the turbo it seems)

You think the oil leak could of caused your seals to die?

nah, I'm guessin the return line I swapped in was plugged and then the seals blew out cuz it had nowhere to go, of course I wont know for sure until I do some investigating

how big is that drain line? It looks a bit small. the way it routes looks like it kind of levels off a bit which will slow down the draining of the turbo and cause it to back up. may want to shorten the hose a little bit and just put a coupler fitting direct to the turbo rather than using a 45 to remove some of the restriction to drain properly.

it comes straight down out of the turbo and then the fitting that is welded to the motor is a 90* into the motor but its angled 45* is from the ground (down hill 45*) not sure on the size of the line but the fittings that are on it have the same ID as the last hose I was using so flow should be basically the same, it may come close to leveling out for a couple inches but its about the same as the line that I replaced

    A thing or two...
7/64" hose is what comes with the mapecu3 if I remember right. It fits nice and tight on a 1/8" barb.
