Was the Form1 an SBR, SBS, or suppressor? Have any pics of the formed firearms, would love to see? I'm in the midst of an 8.5in 300AAC SBR build at this moment but I'm still waiting because I could only do individual paper.

The wait times will be dropping fairly soon, the massive influx of form 1's and 4's caused by 41F should be finished processing in the next month or less.

I can see your point and frustration as far as "pistol" vs SBR.
I chose to pay the tax so I could have an SBR for 2 reasons, 1. It looks normal, not like a mutant AR design, and 2. The ATF cannot tell me it is illegal to shoulder an SBR.

As far as background checks/ waiting periods go...

I don't see the point of a waiting period, if john smith is pissed at his business partner or wife he will most likely stab or bludgeon them unless he has a firearm in easy reach/access, if he is enraged to the point it becomes pre-meditated he would borrow one from a friend or go to the hood to get a firearm if there's a waiting period.

I also do not feel as though the atf needs the fingerprints of myself and my trustees to perform a background check when at the gun shop NCIC can use my name and last 4 of my social to find out if I'm clear.
Yes, a criminal could, in theory, steal someone's identity and a credit card, and have a illegitimate ID created so they could buy a gun from a shop, however a straw sale or even just going to the hood and buying one off the corner is much easier and less likely to be caught/prosecuted.

Makes sense. I know the times will drop soon but it should never get to this point, this is too long. Maybe the fingerprints are pushing it , I mean when you get booked, you get fingerprints taken. You aren't a criminal if your trying to build a pistol or rifle...
Pistols have always looked weird because of the buffer tube, and the shit I see stuck on them is insane. The brace was never intended to be used like people use it today and of course people complained and got it changed to "allow" shouldering. My main intention for the original post was just for pistol at vs SBR AR but I guess it morphed into more. A simple background check on every gun purchased would at least be some sort of deterrent compared to nothing. We've tried requiring straw sales to have background checks done but it has failed to hold as a law change here.

See that's something I've wanted changed too. If we're going to go through these hoops, might as well pull back the stupid ruling not allowing me to move states with my SBR or hunt. I thought hunting small game in certain states with an SBR is fine. What's funny is without a stand or something to help steady the pistol AR, your going to have a harder time properly lining up your shot and maybe having to give follow up shots to actually take the animal down. If your shooting suppressed 300AAC, your going to have a substantial lead distance if the animal is moving because the bullet just moves that slow. I also don't understand why someone would want to get jabbed by either a brace or blade either.

Yes 300 doesn't have any recoil suppressed, its amazing. Not gonna lie anymore, maybe I am just butthurt but I would think I'm not the only one though, just doesn't make sense. Most hog hunts are going to be between the 50-100yd range so I can see what your saying. We've got different views and that's fine.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding....
That sounds to me like the following scenario.
    Kid A has a lollipop.
    Kid B does not.
Kid B is upset, not so much because he doesn't have a lollipop but because Kid A does. Rather than asking for a lollipop of his own, Kid B would be happy if someone took the lollipop away from Kid A.

If I misunderstood, my apologies. If I got it right, I don't understand the mentality.

Nope we both have lollipops, one person bought it, the other person got it for free... Oh and misuses it and sends letters to government agencies to have rulings changed because it's "against their rights", says it's one thing when it really isn't... Not meaning any of this offensively but just my opinion, doesn't really matter in the "real world". Isn't fair right? I know, I know, the world isn't fair, but I'm rooting for something.
Knockoff is a great word for it.

you've embellished my scenario but left out the solution.
If the proposed solution is to take away Kid A's lollipop, that's what I don't understand.
If the proposed solution is for Kid B to learn about options and decide for himself in the future if he would rather have a $50 fake or a $200 real and leave Kid A and his choices to himself then I can get behind that
