Now he just wears pink shirts in all the videos so it's pretty much a trade off.

Eh, sort of. You can try to get some LEDs in there but the older versions (mine's an '06), the bulbs are incandescent so by nature they are "orange" compared to LED.
(The technical details are the incandescents are about 2500-3000 CCT while the LEDs can be that low, the "whiter" ones are upwards of 5500-6000 CCT. I work in lighting tech, so that's how I know)

The problem I had was that the holes for the OE bulbs were too small so I couldn't fit the aftermarket bulbs (bought from ebay for like $1/ea) so I couldn't get the knobs to light up "white".
I've heard from other people that the light guide that is in the HVAC controls was never meant to take an LED (on older models) so even if you get an LED in there, the light quality/brightness sucks.
But the biggest problem I've had is that for whatever reason, the damn OE bulbs crapped out on me and then any of the aftermarket ones I've gotten either have wires that don't stay in place or the actual little plastic housing melts.

TL;DR: I have the China knobs, they just don't light up.

So full set of LT275/70r17 T/A BFG KO2s purchased.

And I called the 800 number on discounttiredirect and got them to honor the 4th of July promotions, so that's pretty sweet ($160 in rebates).

Guess I'll find out what kind of chopping I'll have to do on Saturday afternoon when they get mounted!

Little known fact: driver's side Headstrong Off-Road window decal is necessary to completely eliminate taco lean.
