Hi, I'm looking for the part # for 2017 Tacoma Intermittent Wiper Switch. My SR model with utility package did not come with intermittent wipers. every thing I've read says it's a simple fix but I can't seem to confirm the part #. Thanks for any help.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Ask Toyota? We have guys here on the board that work in parts at dealerships that offer good pricing.

Your local dealer would likely say there is none listed for your truck. So if you want to query them, just ask for a switch for a fancy truck that came with one.

I'd not be surprised if it was the same as the 2nd gens. But of course don't know that.

Still ??? Still ??? The 3rd gen taco base still does not have intermittent wipers?? That was a bone of contention when I bought my new 2014. I asked the salesman if intermittent wipers could be installed, he said I'll ask service...came back with a No....What they could do was sell me was financing, extended warrantee, fabric, paint, and tire protection, window glass etching, and the rest of the bag of tricks... and all I wanted was intermittent wipers....Thanks to this forum I was able to do in my driveway what that million $$$ dealership couldn't or wouldn't do.. They really had no interest, the only interest was to sell me that truck...Yup ordered the switch which fits a Corolla and did the rather simple job...What I don't get is what Toyota doesn't get in making intermittent wipers on the Tacoma base... Lets go Places!!

Hate to bump this old post - and yes, I've searched - but I have a 2018 SR model and need to install this "upgrade" (sad). I have sourced the part, but the latest thread that detailed installation for Gen 3's showed pictures that do not resemble what's in my truck... I guess I can figure it out, but if anyone has any tips/pics on installing the intermittent wiper replacement on a late model Gen 3, I'd really appreciate it!

It’s crazy some of these trucks come without basic functionality. That is plain greedy. There cannot be that much difference in the price Toyota pays for the switches. I am glad Toyota is facing some tough competition in this segment and I hope the Ranger and the Gladiator do well.

Meanwhile, Mazda is offering a retrofit to Android Auto and CarPlay to all their compatible models back to 2014! A tale of two Japanese automakers.

To think Safety Sense is only standard because of the entire safety debacle they experienced a few years back. Otherwise, I bet safety options would be spread across the models and packages.

concur - the switch is 100 bucks online... Anyway, sounds like a really stupid thing to complain about, until you don't have one... I just bought my first Tacoma (had a Titan for 14 years) and although I really like the truck, it has some peculiarities that I don't understand. The lack of intermittent wipers, lack of height adjustable seats.. the weird transmission that seems to shift gears unexplainably :) ... Nevertheless, I still love the truck!

Not going to get any sympathy from me regarding corporate Toyota...The redesign of the 3rd gen is nothing more than hanging a new nose, and some reshaped sheet metal... the cab & inner structure is the same. It has a nice dash, but when it came to the functionally of the wiper switch they were still asleep at the wheel...You would think that by now the 4 cylinder would be direct injection?, nope its still gutless.....And another thing, the consumer has to do is modify that emission pump (you know, the noise you hear when you start & shut off the engine) with a $12.00 aftermarket filter so that the foam filter in the pump box doesn't deteriorate and cause hundreds of $$$ expense to the consumer....(there's a long thread on this issue as well)....I know quite of bit on corporate logic, retired from the corporate world, and that is why I'm so sensitive to their stupidity.... The Tacoma is an OK truck, nothing more..........

Walking over to sign the papers on the purchase of my new '17 SR, the salesman looked at me and said "you do know it doesn't have remote door locks?" I stopped in my tracks and told him the deal was off if that's the case. I understand it's a "base" model, but to not have remote door locks is truly sad. It wasn't until I was driving home, in the rain, on the freeway, that I realized it didn't have cruise or intermittent wipers. My bad for not conducting the proper due diligence, but it never occurred to me that a 2017 vehicle wouldn't have those basic functions, "base" or not. Talk about buyers remorse all the way home.

Thankfully I found this site, and added those options within a few days of getting the truck home, and the dealer installed the "SE Toyota" remote door lock option at no charge to salvage the sale, so essentially I ended up with a "flare-less" SR5 at a substantial savings. I have to say, I'm thrilled with the truck, and don't mind the 4-cylinder engine at all.

That thread has very detailed instructions and pics and looked exactly like my 2018 SR DCSB. Thank you TW! Just be careful with the small tab that you need to pull forward (toward you if you are in driver seat) because it can break and if it does, it becomes a much bigger problem. Also, re-confirming for you that Genuine Toyota 84652-06340 Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly is the correct part number (at least it was for mine). I ordered from Amazon. It is $139 now (you may fund a better price somewere else). Mine took me about 20 min total.
You said it looks different than your column? Remember the screws cant be seen unless the wheel is turned all the way.

btw, added the remote keyless entry also.
    fogs next then...

    Good luck.
