My question is if i find like bilstein 5100 coilovers or icon 2.5 that give me that 2.5-3 inch lift on the front can i just take out the procomp strut and coil spring out and replace just that part of the lift?

Not following. That is 'the lift' isn't it? Or are there spacers too?

The shock is not creating the rough ride. The spring is.

Yah the spring is caused it over rated in the weight dept, so im saying can i just take the procomp strut and coil spring so everything in the front i installed and replace that with just a better coil over? or is pro comp bullshitting and i can just buy a better rated spring?

I'm not in a position to really answer that.

Worth your time to call Headstrong and Wheelers for some discussion.

I had this lift kit, wife got it for me, it rides super rough but it does soften a bit after a while. Swapped the rear to some OME shocks and Dakars.... Big improvement... Can't wait to do the front.

I want to go with some kings all around eventually. I may go with some OME in the near term.

OME is a shock and spring setup, I think they have different spring rates and a few different shocks to choose from. The kings are an adjustable coil over. You should heck out headstrong offroad. They are pretty knowledgeable and have good selection, prices and free shipping. I got my rear setup from them.

What other parts are you referring to? The coil spring and shock is the lift. What else did you change up front?

    Just to be helpful.

The shock and spring are already coilover. Even when stock. I think the term you might be looking for is adjustable coilover.

We don't have struts, we have shocks all the way around. Yes, the term is loosely used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

You might find rereading post 9 to be helpful too.

Good luck with your quest. As you started off saying, research is good!

You should be able to use those UCA's with any coil over or spring/shock combo

I have the same procomp up front and it only toke my like 20 minutes for each side to get my JBA UCA's on. The only thing that gave me any trouble was getting the long bolt out past the fender on the passenger side, the metal was a little harder to bend out of the way. What was giving you so much trouble?
