Got 'em mounted up Friday but didn't take any good shots. Only one I've got is this from an overcast AM when I was parking the trailer and took a quick snap to a buddy so he knew where to park.

Discoverer ATPs, 265/70/17. Factory suspension, quite a bit of rub at anything past about half lock, trimmed up and have eliminated most of it.

Dark bronze looks sweet with your nautical blue!

Is the rubbing caused by your front mud flaps?

Yup, it's the front mud flaps. It's pretty much all gone now but I need to pay attention to how I'm getting a little bit of rub still so I can eliminate it.

Most of us just remove the front mud flaps. And if it's rubbing the cab mount...time for :sawzall: and :welder: (CMC). You can also max out your caster when getting an alignment to move the front wheels more forward since you have a front plate bumper.

Also, for your winch hook, the Pelfreybilt bumpers have a loop inside the large hole on the driver side so the hook isn't dangling around. But some say it's difficult to access when you need to use the winch, so they clip it to a D-ring shackle.

Yeah, wanted to keep the flaps to try and keep the self-inflicted rock damage to a minimum. Dark colors show every.......damn......little.......scratch :censored:

Re: the winch, good to know about that loop! Literally threw it on Friday and ran out of time to head to a local shop to grab a shackle before I left town so just wound it in all the way. I need to do a better spooling on it as well, the synthetic line that came with the Smittybilt was sort of meh, needs some load behind it to get 'er on there better.

Definitely know about the dark colors showing every scratch/ding...my truck is black. :annoyed:

But, the Ray 10s don't seem to stick out that much for you (at least from the angle of the photo). Another option might be the RokBlokz front mud flaps. They provide a bit more clearance than the stocks and still protect the paint from splash, mud, and rocks. Since you're not lifted and don't have oversize tires, you could probably get the original, short length front and rear combo. In fact, unless you have tires that are more than 12" wide, the originals are probably more than wide enough. I took my front mud flaps off and replaced the rear with RokBlokz. They don't rip off like the OEM ones do.

Edit: I'm not affiliated with RokBlokz. Just a satisfied customer. Also, sent PM to bigdood regarding winch to avoid further thread jack.

I stick out from the flares maybe an inch (should have put that in original post for folks to reference) so it's enough to keep me scared of removing them for now. I was eyeing RokBlokz and the Plastisomethingorrathers...

so much shit to buy so little time

I have Plasticolor's and I love them over the RokBlokz because they're basically the same thing, just significantly cheaper at $25. Plus they have the cool mountain range on the back!

As I posted on the other SCS thread, I have some good news for you Guys (and Gals), sort of.... I am tapping out so that frees up one more opportunity for someone to snag a set of these beauties.

No no no, turn that frown upside down! I basically hit the lotto!!!! Had a forum member contact me about 5 Brushed Copper he had still in the boxes. And you know I snatched those puppies up!!!!
    SCS_Brushed_Copper_IMG_2017.jpg

He shipped them today. I should have them sometime next week.

    SCS_Brushed_Copper_IMG_2044.jpg

I'm gonna wrap them in Nitto Ridge Grapplers, in the 265/70R17 size for my Inferno Sport with OEM suspension. I expect the look to be nothing less than freaking AWESOOOOMMMMEEEE!!!!!

Big thanks to all of you that provided inspiration and knowledge and especially to Vin for helping me decide along the way and ultimately telling me I should never look a gift horse in the mouth and grab em' if I can. He really is a stand up guy! Huge shout out to forum member @SJaYx2P for making this dream a reality!

Now I can freakin' stop living on the internet until 3am for a while! LOL,
    Rob
