The stealership has had my 2010 tacoma for the last week and still doesn't know anything wrong with my truck. The truck will NOT shift into 2nd gear. It's an AUTO and stays in 1st until it redlines, at this time you have to let off the gas pedal and wait for it to shift into 3rd or higher.

They were able to duplicate my problem but have NO idea why it is occurring. Should I be as frusturated as I am? They've had it for a week and continue to tell me that they are doing all they can do but everything checks normal on diagnostics and there's no damage anywhere to be found.

I'm also furious because I'm paying for a brand new 4x4 DCSB TRD Sport and was given a 4-door chevy cobalt as a loaner car.

Mine started slipping bad recently. Took it in and they just replaced it without diagnosing anything. Just took it for a drive and said ok. We will order a new one. Had the new one in 3 days later.

It's good to hear you were taken care of so quickly.

When I talk to them about my truck, I feel like they would keep it for an entire year if it meant they didn't have to spend any money to replace anything.

    Try a different dealer.

I may have to do that. I'm off from work tomorrow and told them that I expect to at least hear something tomorrow. I may end up having to get the truck and take it to a different dealer. I would hate to do that though solely because it's a 15 min. drive from my house; whereas, the other 2 dealerships near here are almost 2 hours away.

a two hour drive is better than not having your truck for a month right?
sounds like they dont want to replace it and are dicking around looking for a quick fix job

You need to get in touch with Toyota Customer Care, get a case started and get the regional repair technicians working on it. Problem seems to be over their head. That's where you should be too

I'd give them 2 days and then demand a new one

Sounds like a new tranny should be in order. Not sure why that is so hard to understand but if the dealer is treating you like this I would not want them working on my truck.
